He can't do it by himself. Last time we relied on one guy to win the world cup, he got run out trying to get the winning run.

He is gonna be key yes, but as mentioned we need more than one if we want to win this WC... especially on the bowling side in crunch games...

We don't want 100s from AB during the group stages, we want 100s in QF, SF or final.

Just for info, all 3 of ABs world cup 100s came in Group stages games. 2 against windies and 1 against Netherlands.
His record in knockout games is pathetic.

Let me help you. 0.

In fact in the super 8's rounds of the 2007 CWC the only saffer to score a century was.....? Against the WI, the man you love to hate, with a score of 146, Abraham Benjamin de Villiers!

All of the south african batsman have dreadfull knockout records..Also something to remember when AB was going great at 35 no in the last knockout game vs NZ he was run out by a certain faf...

No we must be practical. The Proteas' World Cup hinges on two men Amla&Philander.

World cups are won by teams not individuals. There will be stars in those teams but it will be a collective effort.

Fair enough but if the Proteas are to win it will be because of Amla&Philander. Those two have the ability to deliver more consistently that's why I say them instead.

Amla/Philander are your bankers. They always going to be there or there abouts. We need the fringe players to perform if we going to win. JP/Behardien coming in at the tail end of the innings both with bat and ball, is going to be critical. Miller crucial.
