Absa has launched its new logo

I don't know. Looking at that logo, I think they have a bigger problem. I would actually completely re-brand (which includes a name change) to try detach from its past.
 
Gee...amazing. You managed to find a handful of brands that don't capitalize. I'm impressed.
Of course, looking up the top 10 brands in the world...

Google
Microsoft
Coca-Cola
Amazon
Samsung
Toyota
Facebook
Mercedes-Benz
IBM..
8 Out of 10 do capitalize. As do the other 99% of the world's brands. But hey, don't let that get in the way of a good counter point.

I'm sure they're devastated that Glock26 from MyBB cant take them seriously...

And yes, Apple cares so much about capitalization that they forgot to do it on the first letter of all their products...

I can just see how that presentation from the marketing / design company went:

MC: Before we unveil our latest design, does anybody have any questions?
ABSA: Is the design eye catching, with a bright and interesting colour palette?
MC: No
ABSA: Seeing as our new catch phrase is Africanacity, does it have an African theme or context?
MC: No
ABSA: Is the design modern?
MC: No
ABSA: Does it incorporate the old company logo, text?
MC: No, we haven't even bothered to capitalize your company name
ABSA: Right then, here's a large wad of money, lets see it
