Absolutely fed up with MWEB 2meg performance

Over the past 2-3months I have been in correspondence with MWEBGuy on twitter about the rather unpredictable behavior that my internet experience has been. I am considering my options now, I have lurked around this subforum and it looks like I should just switch to Telkom or Afrihost?

I am on 2meg uncapped premium at the moment, it used to be absolutely amazing, but 3months is a long stretch of bad internet. My normal use case is streaming (eSports and live game coverage) and gaming.

I only download ~120gb a month normally according to my account history.

I am leaning towards Afrihost because of the snappy customer service however I'm open to persuading, anything is better than ****web.

Also as a side question how can I cancel my account as effectively as possible. Tried Googling and didnt get much in the way of answers.

Neighbors tapping in on your WIFI perhaps?
Try test your ADSL performance with another ADSL account, you may be having a problem with your physical line or a possible fault at the telkom exchange..

I heard its easier to downgrade from uncapped to 1gb capped which by-passes the 30 day notice.

+1 for Plugg

+1 to trying another ISP account to eliminate congested exchange etc.

I use MAC white listing ontop of WiFi passwords for protection

Also used to be on MWEB 2Mb and after a few months of consistent bad performance switched to OpenWeb Gold.

There's a few hiccups (which may not be their fault as others have not reported it) but most of the time it fly's. I only download at night (news) and its full speed all the way.
 
I've tried 2 trial accounts this evening (Axxess/OpenWeb) they have both been fine, Axxess did spike while I was playing CS:GO for about 2minutes, so not sure about that but I'll put it down to an anomaly :D. Got few other trial accounts to test tomorrow (imaginet/web africa/afrihost/plugg)

MWeb's performance is terrible.
Watching the xbox reveal I had to change to my backup Webafrica account (Internet Solutions network) and the stream then maxed out my line. With my MWeb account it was buffering and only doing about 40-60kb/s.
 
same here got a warning today on a 1mb line for gods sake, get a life mweb losers !!!!

I didn't even bother. When i watched the PS4 announcement it was the same story so this MWEB speed nonsense is nothing new.
 
I have MWEB 4meg uncapped ADSL, and have been an MWEB subscriber since they were the first ISP in South Africa to launch affordable uncapped internet in South Africa...

I have been happy with MWEB for the past couple of years, but I have noticed some inconsistent experiences in the past couple of months. The network does not feel as solid as it used to be in the past...

I mainly use internet for streaming from YouTube, NetFlix, Hulu etc...

I am also a regular World Of Warcraft player as well...

I get buffering at 360p on YouTube, and my pings in World Of Warcraft fluctuate between 200ms and 1500ms...
The WOW network latency icon is red most of the time...
