Just try and find one light hearted story in the South Africa section on News24.com

Not one, its bloody depressing to the point of me feeling ill after reading the stories... Everytime i read the news these days i have less confidence in this country of ours. Now i hate being pessimistic, i prefer being realistic and hiding from the news is not going to help anything.

Cant the journalists throw in a few light hearted stories just to add a smile instead of a frown or tear.
Its getting bloody depressing :(

There's only so many times you can show people cute fuzzy animals before they get tired of it.

Got one

Feel my breasts, says Anne
08/04/2008 11:33 - (SA)

Cape Town - The BBC has received complaints after Anne Robinson, host of TV game show The Weakest Link asked a contestant to feel her breasts, the BBC's news network reported on its website on Monday.

The 63-year-old Robinson invited TV wine-taster Olly Smith to feel her breasts during a special celebrity episode featuring 10 British celebrity contestants from the world of food, including TV chefs Sophie Grigson and the Hairy Bikers.

Early in the show, Smith told the audience: "If Anne was a wine, she'd be a smooth, full-bodied, expensive red."

Robinson quickly complained, saying that she did not like being called full-bodied.

"I have spent a long time getting this figure. Are you saying I have huge breasts?"

'Fantastic'

The back-and-forth continued until Anne gestured to her cleavage and quipped: "You need to feel them?"

Smith first hesitated, but then said "he'd love to", adding it would be one of his life's "greatest regrets" if he did not touch the former newspaper journalist's breasts.

After placing his hands over them, he proclaimed: "They are absolutely fantastic, honestly! Touch my hands. These are amazing! I have touched Anne's boobs."

According to the BBC they received 16 complaints for the show that was broadcast on Saturday afternoon and watched by 5.5 million people.

The broadcast corporation, however, stressed it was a "playful and light-hearted" exchange.

Because 'good news' doesn't sell.
Newspapers & News web sites go for bad news because bad news gets attention.
It's all about money!

that was not an animal  ... We're talking the 4-legged variety, not 2-legged! :p :D
