Accessing macbook hdd on windows

I have a friend that dropped his macbook (old model). I have an adaptor so I removed the hdd but I cant seem to access it in windows.

I tried on a Linux machine where I can access the drive with something called sirikali but not sure where to from there as I get an error when entering the password for the user.

Any other way?

If it’s FileVault encrypted your only option is using another Mac.

Its HFS (journaled), windows/linux cant read that.

Only another mac as mentioned.
