Activate?

We applied for adsl and today telkom called and told us its up and running. We did the self install option. So I plugged the adsl filters into each phone line and connected the modem/router. Does telkom still need to activate anything else. We are using a different isp and I've put those settings in but the dsl light doesn't come on. It just flashes now and again.

The modem/router goes directly into the phone jack (no filter). Only your phone/fax goes via the filter into the phone jack. Unless I'm misunderstanding?

there must be no filter on the adsl line from modem going to the wall only to the telephones
and you have to activate the line either by phoning them or through the internet

Ok it says it's activated and I've waited for the required 30 mins and still nothing. Internet light stays red.
I have the following settings and I just want to make sure they look correct because it's a new router and I'm somewhat lost atm.
It's a Linksys model WAG300N

Internet Setup:
Encapsulation : RFC 2516 PPPoE
Multiplexing : LLC
Qos type : UBR
Pcr Rate :
Scr Rate :
Autodetect : Disable
Virtual Circuit : 0 (VPI Range 0~255)
35 (VPI Range 0~65535)
DSL Modulation : Multimode

Does this look right?
