Activation Fee !

I think sihen has already posted it earlier that we would not have to pay. I just keep posting because at the moment I am very happy with iBurst even happier that I don't have to line Telkom pockets with more money every month for ADSL. It started off with no activation fee and all of a sudden there is one.

Who is going to be the market leader scrap all these misc charges and say our product costs X Rand per month. South Africans can only be one of a few countries in the work the pay for CLI on phones.

Cellphone contracts first having to pay itemised billing, then CLIP, then SIM swops - Insurance next? Is WBS going the same way. Following Telkom with an activation fee if it is technically possible maybe they will follow Vodacom and charge for compulsory itemised biilling for detailed connection information which would be of no use.

OK is there something in the accounting/marketing world that is so infinitely tricky that these morons cannot make a statement similar to the following. You will pay us X for which you receive Y and Z ?

Activation Fee

Screw IBURST activiation fee... THEY want so much money they become another sentech. When i received my 1st docs they wanted R3500 for the Desktop modem now all of sudden they changed minds the next day they want R2800.....
What is going on here seriously IBURST are making money out of us and it's the pre launch...

I also received doc saying there is no activation fee... I think ppl been testing iburst that week and returning it.

Hi,

I did actually send an email to iburst to which I naturally received not reply. Any form of activation fee surely must be the craziest thing. That's like Pick 'n Pay charging an entrance fee for the privilege to shop there..... Yes we would love you as a customer but it's a bit of a hassle signing you up so we'll charge you for that.........

Can anybody explain that logic to me?

Seems like they are trying to avoid/throttle over subscription if you ask me. (bandwidth problems on it's way?)

.. I smell another sentech scenario ..

Yeah Like I remember, when I got an e-mail notify me that IBURST is availble, they wanted for UT-D R3500 no activation fee then when i go to the WBS office in January I hear diffrent, why in the 1st place do they change there minds in 1 week not selling the goods. WBS, should get there act together about prices aswell. It's launch prices and i think you still pay the activation fee its another sentech.

According to WBS the activation fee is still the same R114 month2month and R456 for 24Month contracts. Wonder who gave out that information? There is also no increase planned..

That what I heard from WBS when I sign up, prices might also go up aswell.. I asked if prices would come down later if stuff changed, she said "No, It'll go up"

They just want the activation fee to make money out of the ppl, So you hooked and they keep ur activation fee if you aint satisfied. I've to say WBS, are always changing prices, who knows what might happen next activation fee will be more than the connection u pay per month
