Adobe and Apple war continues

iTunes uses quicktime for the codecs, file conversion, etc but if you dont like it why not use one of the plethora of iTunes alternatives available?

Or better still buy a Zune :)

iTunes, another great example of how Steve wants to control everything. The iPod only works on iTunes always, all the alternatives at some point Apple would plug a hole and then my iPod won't sync. So gave up on that one. My next mp3 player will be a Sony Walkman.

yes please quicktime OMG!!!!! keeeeeeel iiiiittttttt
don't even get me started with itunes...i just want to dump my mpfrees and go.
gave away my ipod 2GB
will never buy apple again.

I'm telling you once they get flash sorted the market is going to explode!!!! just think of all the games you could simply just port!

I'm telling you once they get sued to oblivion this problem will disappear along with apple and their rotten appletude.

Silverlight as the dark horse... what do u guys think??

Its years away from gaining market share in comparison to Flash but it is quite promising.....

Silverlight with RIA is freaking awesome ! It will greatly change the way web apps are built and deployed - not only on intranets but also on the internet.

Jobs should stop stealing technology from HTC and Nokia...then criticise other ppl's technologies.

What technologies did Jobs steal from HTC & Nokia? Do you have any proof? I'm quite sure that if he did, he would be roting in jail, wouldn't he? Afterall, the US justice system is not as broken as ours.

It's funny how noobs like to blurt out RAS :D

well he stole the GUI from Xerox way back when so what do you expect? Go read up on tech news over the last couple of weeks and you will see the patent infringements made by apple. Not only that but their serious rotten appletude problem will become blazingly apparent if you follow the whole flash thing.

Quicktime deserves to die before we even think of Flash. Jobs, kill quicktime and then we can talk about HTML5 mkay?
QFT! I'm sick to death of that shytty codec popping up when I want to watch a video

Just so we're clear: I don't like the way Apple (or Jobs) handled the iPhone middleware issue, I don't like Flash (and Adobe even less), and I definitely don't like Quicktime.

That said (not that this point has anything to do with the issue, really)...

well he stole the GUI from Xerox way back when so what do you expect?

Jobs didn't actually "steal" anything from Xerox, per se. He bought all the tech he got from them with Apple stock. Gates/Microsoft on the other hand just stole the idea from Jobs/Apple.

Guess M$ did a far better job then considering the amount of user they have and that flash actually works on their devices. They also handled their EU lawsuit a lot better than what apple will. In the end it all still boils down to rotten appletude.

Native 64 bit FLASH ?

Does anyone know if there is a NATIVE 64 bit version of Flash available
NOT
Flash running in a 32 bit browser on a 64 bit OS.

Been waiting for this for a VERY Loooonnnngggg time.

Adobe have had AMPLE time to do this but have NOT :(

:twisted::mad:

I'm not quite sure what will make it better if it is 64bit ? WOW32 does a good enough job of everything.
