Telkom took my line from 1 Meg to 4 and still I don’t have any luck in getting any better speeds? It is still on 54k/s, I did read that some users were upgraded to 4 meg and had the same issue as what I have and I would like to know if I there’s came right and should I just wait longer? as the upgarde only happend today

Telkom upgraded my line today too. Am only getting 54k/s. Is this normal?
I hope that this comes right, otherwise, I should have stayed with DSL 512 as I was getting nearly the same speed as with 1MB line.

Isp said they are not the issue at all and that there servers will automaticaly detect your line speed, spoke to mweb and telkom and both confirmed this, they might be wrong but what do i do to rectify this???

Are you sure you were upgraded already? What normally happens is you will see a line sync at the higher speed, but are not yet upgraded. They then upgrade you at a later stage.

hello you guys should plug ur self straight into the router. If you arnt, ive had similar problems when i go through a network hub.

Same thing here. SAIX account, was upgraded on the 1st already. Got 2 to 3mbps average, my line peaked at arround 3.8mbps.

For the last week, I struggle to maintain 1.5mbs. Can't open allot of simultaneous connections, nudda. They are shaping the crap out of the line now :( It's worse than what it was with my 1mb line afaik.

Mine was just upgraded. Intl is slower than on 384 :(

Download time: 1.64 seconds
Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
Estimated line speed: 2487.8 (kilobits/second)
Estimated line speed: 304.9 (kiloBytes/second)

Could you run the three speed tests here and post your results:

Mine are:
Oops, the Telkom HTTP speed test apears to have gone away. On the FTP test I am getting about 270KBs.
Gamco: 3.2Mbs (this is much better than I was getting two days ago)
Sentech: 950Kbs (this is also better, but not great obviously)

...even today im having adsl probs and im from KZN.....could hardly open MyAdsl forum :(
I wish....i wish...That just for ONE week......Telkom's ADSL will go smooth without any breakdowns.....Truely, there wasn't ONE week that has gone by, that i can say with all honesty that there were NO adsl speed-probs....:(

Why is sentech so different? Last time I ran that test it was completley wrong, must have been a proble mthough ,i think it was much higher than it should have been..

They probably dont have enough bandwidth to accomodate 4mb speeds? Dunno..
