ADSL accounts cut off

Point=There's nothing we can do, not even moaning on this forum will fix it, so how about being happy that you're getting a service at all...!

We paying for the service so the least they can do is keep us happy!

I don't think there is 1 Positive Post on this forum, about Telkom or any other service providers.
You can't possibly tell me that your ISP has never done ANYTHING GOOD?
I Have telkom ADSL, and yes it has it's issues, but let's TRY be positive for one day???

Sure there are positive things about isp`s, like......... errr.......for example.......
The glass can`t always be half full - sooner or later someone must fill it up
We as consumers of their products must take a stand. Then and only then will we begin to see positive changes.

During the course of our democracy since 1994, we have come to realise that only 0.2 % (i made this up) of the population exercised their right to the freedom of speech, gathering and association, it is therefore the view of the government and the act we shall now enforce from 1 May 2009 that all people will have 2 chances in their life to exercise these rights!

NOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I damn hate it when they cut something off because "we realise most pple only use 2Gigs" so fine, we realise most pple really only eat one apple a week, lets ration apples.:eek::eek:

Uhmm taking a 4Mbit line for 30 days 24hours a day you can download 1.296 TBytes in best conditions according to my calculations. Sorry dont believe it:confused:

they stink, your uncapped line isn't uncapped but it has a threshold. what utter crap.

Well guys here you go. For all you people saying you cant do this and you cant do that. Here is the proof that you can. Unfortunately not all the months wants to show correctly and I cant get access to my other account.

Say what you want say I abuse the system. I don't care... It said uncapped ADSL local, funny thing is i'm not the only one who abused it...

Apparently there is a lady which did almost 5 times my amount .

Look at the last part of the speeds that you can do...

Dude, its not about wanting unlimited local again, it's the business ethics that shouldn't go unnoticed. And besides, you can't be an abuser if you can have unlimited of something .. think about it.

Mweb could have simply capped the local at something like 100gb - voila "abusers" gone - that they chose to end it says to me it has nothing at all to do with a few heavy users.

As far as I'm concerned the more disconcerting aspect is that MyBB News got played by mweb.

Swimming with the Fishes

They could have easily capped at a reasonable limit of their choosing whilst informing their customers in due course the route the service will be taking even creating a customer survey would have been beneficial.

Phoning customers after a year, what the hell is that !!!!!!!!

It's bad customer service & bad PR, it's just all round bad business IMO....

I agree ... and you can also argue the fact Mweb could have phoned these "abusers of unlimited local bandwidth" (thats the correct term) during the past year, so why didnt they if they were a problem?? I mean seriously, you could have detected this from the first month of service. And the trial started in february, meaning that "abusers" should have been detected and warned since february already. I would seriously question them how they could have let somebody download 200Gb+ for three months straight (just look at some of the screenshots, there's no way that you cant detect a heavy usage pattern. And there's nothing wrong with that by the way, its "unlimited") in the past year and then let it pass as somebody that was not "abusing" the package. But you know why they didn't do anything ... because it's "unlimited" and now Mweb on the last month wishes to devalue customers by saying that they are "abusers". So where is the business ethics in that?

In all honesty, if abusing was really a problem, a simple email "Hi there, we notice that you have been using alot of bandwidth ... please take this as your first warning" would have gone such a long way......

To silence the mob, could you tell us in general terms what this 3 odd TB of data was?

1) Company backups, VPN or similar business data transfer activities
2) Data 'sharing' services :)

or indicate the % of both 1 and 2

Telkom spends more on advertising each year than they do on upgrading their network infrastructure.

They BS most of their customers(like yourself) to believe that they are recieving the best deal in the world. But that is just not true.

You should seriously consider scrapping your adsl contract, its a ripoff having to pay line rental + pay telecoms tax as well.. AND pay per gig from your isp's too.

The reason there aren't any positive people is because we know what we are in for:

The ANC owns Telkom
Telkom Owns Sat-3/Safe
Telkom Owns Local Loop
Telkom Owns Vodacom(their shareholders)
The ANC Owns Sentech
Vodacom Owns Iburst

See the collusion here? We have verry few companies who aren't affiliated with each other..

Picard 100-150gb but some people cannot take a good deal and look after it, instead they feel the need to take a good deal and rape the crap out of the deal, then moan when the deal gets revoked.

They are raping us so some people are raping them in return.

Some Sad Stuff...

I would actually like to see more of this in the media, just to let the average Joe & Jane know what lies beneath the advertising & how "apparently" client orientated companies such as Mweb, Telkom & many others undermine their clientèle on almost every turn to cover their own backs & business ethics....

MWEB eish!

High prices and crappee service and then they try cover it up with PR...mmm, ya, we ain't that stoopid! Mweb better sort itself out there are many ISP's out there with better cheaper products and people are moving...their quality of service has gone down massively (they've become like a private Telkom, to big to care!!!)...but they forget, people are more and more informed these days and they won't settle for rubbish products and service, they dont need to anymore!!

Here are the stats from the top ten users of axxess uncapped adsl accounts for March:

1 384kbit/s 967Gb
2 384kbit/s 804Gb
3 384kbit/s 722Gb
4 512kbit/s 693Gb
5 384kbit/s 691Gb
6 384kbit/s 657Gb
7 384kbit/s 579Gb
8 384kbit/s 510Gb
9 384kbit/s 509Gb
10 512kbit/s 507Gb

I thought Mweb didn't allow multiple concurrent connections??

In which case, how is it even possible to use ONE account on multiple lines ?

and uploads? or was that not part of your calculations?

Keep in mind that that counts towards your cap.
