Telkom have the best speeds and value for money when compared to other 3gig packages out there.
Just changed my two 5gig cybersmart accounts over to 2 X 3gig telkom accounts. Best thing ive done in ages.
Cybersmart was bad because:
I had double the ping to SGS. 80 ping with Cybersmart, and only 25 ping with Telkom.
Once capped, they make you pay around R65 for every local gig used. If I used 5 gigs of local b/w, I would be instantly capped at the start of the next month.
Their customer service is utter crap. They blamed me for having a high ping, and told me to get their unshaped account to fix it.
Only 1 login at a time per account. So if I have 4 pc's I can only use bridge mode on one of them.
Telkom gave me:
More gigs than I pay for, and 30 free local gigs pm.
4 X logins at a time, making bridge mode possible.
25 ping to local gaming servers.
Absolute uptime.
They dont use the slow IS backbone. (yay)
Until an ISP can beat that, Im going to have to say Im a Telkom fanboy.
