ADSL Im a newbie again!

Hi, guys, I finally got my own ADSL line a couple of months ago. I have been using this Telkom Simple, and the top up from telkom at R50/p gb has been ****, I have paid, R700 extra last month. I cannot afford this. A couple of questions, I need an uncapped account:

Is Mweb 384 at R220 okay? or Openweb? Can you pay month to month? Can I use my Telkom router and then just input my new ISP details?

Also I cant seem to find a speedtest sticky on here where is the comparisions of ISP im sure theres something on here somewhere.

Just take note that if you got a free ADSL modem with the Telkom Simple, then you're on a 24-month contract.

Since you're in Cape Town, you can always take out the 6 month contract with Mweb, and get 2 months for free.
Mweb accounts perform really well in the Cape Town region.

You can also use the Mweb uncapped as a month-to-month contract, where you have to give 30 days notice to cancel it, but this way you won't get anything for free and you'll lose your chance of getting 2 months free too.

either way, you'll probable have to keep the 'simple' package as well. so it would be R199+R220.
next would be to look at how much and how you use. personally i dont see much point in paying extra for uncapped if all you need is 10 gigabyte more every month. keep in mind the telkom account would then be put to use and become a 11gB local download/youtube account

If you're on a Telkom Simple 24-month contract, then I would suggest that you have a look into splitting local only & international traffic by adding like a 10GB OpenWeb IS Local Only account into the mix for only R70.
I would actually recommend that you buy like a MikroTik RB750 router for like R400 to perform the traffic splitting, unless you only have 1 or 2 PC's that needs to make use of the traffic splitting.
