ADSL Price Comparison

How long is the Afrihost offer/trail period said to last? Wouldn't mind getting an account but it would have to be for November.

It ends this week. The new prices will also be low.

Sign up now. Let the debit order bounce. Ask them not to process it again and confirm with them that the account can be suspended and you will keep it, but will pay 1 Nov.

Make sure you order a lot of gigs to offset the penalty at the bank for the debit order not going through.

PM Gian, to see if you can book gigs first. He may allow you to book for Nov.

Will give that a try. When you say the R29 per gig offer will extend forever for those that take it up, does the amount of gigs you initially choose count?

So if I sign up for 1 gig can I keep the same pricing if I later move to 5 gigs?

When will the new price start then, December?

Cause if you only give notice in October that there's a new price - people don't have 30-days to cancel before it comes into effect?

Hmm, not sure how ethical this suggestion of yours is! Pay now or lose out on the offer. This is not a bargain bonanza where one can wheel and deal.

If I was Afrihost, if an account payment was missed one month then you revert back to the normal prices thereafter...

If you sign on now, the price is R29/GB forever.

If you want to upgrade, after this week, the new price will be slightly higher.

Thanks - signed up this morning.

Yeh - don't think its the right way - but they shouldn't need to extend their offer either.

Oh crap - I see now - I've signed up - can I upgrade from 5GB to 10GB quickly somehow?

EDIT - And I can't log into the "Client Zone" - I put in my details and it redirects me to the same logon page?

You are allowed to upgrade/downgrade once a month... so do it today!! If the offer is still on when you do it you will get it at the bargain price.

Can't seem to find where - got into the Client Zone... but I don't see upgrade, only add new package to my existing one...

At this stage, we allow upgrades and downgrades to be performed only before the 26th of the month due to our billing runs.

**sigh**

I'll check back later - if Lightscribe hasn't responded, I'll just buy the 10gb and cancel the 5gb...

Why Lightscribe? Yo do realise he is not involved with Afrihost? Search for Afrihost-Gian or soemthing of the sort on here and PM him. He is the CEO.

True, but if you want the product, they allow it to bounce, which allows you to get it from the 1st of Oct. It's a small loss now, as the debit order penalty.

1st Nov is a while off and Gian should be contacted for that.

Interesting to see that the only price drops that we are seeing is on ADSL where Telkom has the monopoly. There are however no price drops on 3G/HSDPA.

Therefore, yet again, Telkom is getting all the business.

I will rather stick with the more expensive 3G/HSDPA prices for now, until they come down, than sponsoring the Telkom ADSL trap.
