ADSL price per Mbps comparison

Looking at the table it is quite clear to me that a really good thing would happen if there is one more bump from Telkom on speeds:
1Mbps ADSL 1Mbps N/A - Scrapped or made a where available included with voice rental
2Mbps ADSL 2Mbps R165 R82.50
4Mbps ADSL 4Mbps R299 R74.75
10Mbps ADSL 10Mbps R425 R42.50
20Mbps VDSL 20Mbps R540 R27.00
40Mbps VDSL 40Mbps R795 R19.88

Considering that at 2Mbps you are competing with the current real world SA speeds on 3G for many customers it is pretty damn compelling to lower mobile data costs

Problem is some people barely get a stable 1Mbit connection as it is. I think they should keep it but at half the price.

So it's a pity that 99.9% of all ADSL subscribers can only get a MAX of 1mbps (real world speeds, not sync rate)

It makes no difference if Telkom offered 1gbps services you would still only get 1mbps because of how bad Telkom's DSL network has become...

stupid article is stupid.

I'm offering 1gb internet connections for R1 / month. Its only in a very few areas and I wont tell you what my rollout plan is.

I win - my Price / mb is the cheapest

I think in order to qualify you'd have to be able to provide the service to at least one customer though.

sure - my neighbour. Also, dont expect advertised speeds because, hey - why should we deliver on what we promise
