ADSL Service

Just tried it again...

Pretty fast by my standards!!

But, apparently I'm not yet capped, there was just a connection problem or something at my exchange. Trying to get capped today, so that I can fully test it tomorrow.

Thanks for test account!!

:)
No problem louisp.

Glad you are happy with the service. So far all thumbs up :)

Huh, all of a sudden I can't get into any sites with this proxy turned on. What's going on?
Please post an error message if you are unable to access the proxy. Also attach a ping log and a tracert to proxy-gate.nebular.za.net

This way I can troubleshoot your problem!

Your download speed : 273552 bps, or 267 kbps.
A 33.3 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 312552 bps, or 305 kbps.

Not bad at all (home adsl 384 line), browsing is fine. Can't tell the difference between browsing on my uncapped account really. Just started a http download which is staying steady at 38KB/s. Would be interesting to see how it performs when more people are logged in.

Nice one, bob's_uncle. Wouldn't mind dumping that second acount ;)

I've just tested the service - it is fantastic!!! I'm just browsing intl sites [and I'm capped] and it is fast :). However I can't get MSN Messenger working yet....I've filled in the proxy details but it doesn't connect.

out of curiosity I was trying to test it, and I cant even get to the login part.

Is the service down?

echo'd. I think it is down. not responding to pings or anything. Probably needs a dns update. Although it is a diginet line..

Mine's still working perfectly. Maybe it's a port-forwarding/firewall problem?

amazing ;-)

I still cant get on. Does not even prompt for login/pass.

Yes. Amazing. Only an ACL can be at fault here. Not a firewall issue.

Times are a bit slower than usual due to a d/l running in the background (pegged a bit with netlimiter).

Probably only 165.165.* IP's allowed.

My trace route is basically the same as yours gfly, cept your 8th hop is my 16th :(

well it was an external trace. i doubt ***tech will trace properly. they add so many hops in there for no reason.

in summary, it must be the ACL then.

Well I'm capped now and normal browsing on international sites is now impossible directly through my ISP. But through freedsl I'm downloading from download.com at 42KB/s (this is as much as you can ask of DSL384).

If uncle_bob can give 25% of this level of service to all, then R100 is well spent every month. I probably won't be buying the service (since I'm a bit busy at work, and am not using up my 3G at the moment), but it is good to have the option out there.

I guess. since Razer0 and I are on sucktech. Clipse is probably on 196.x.x.x

lol ye, Im on 196.x.x.x static ip. And also tested with uncapped adsl account, Anyone got capped account for me? tehehe :D

Does sucktech have slow local and international? ie. do you receive same bandwidth results locally and internationally?

Just a thought, if local is much faster then a proxy could be a possible sucktech solution aswell.
