been a difficult few weeks - speeds under 0,3MBPS from 18h00 to 23h00 every night. latency tests 200+. daytime on 4meg line runs steady at 3 download and 0,3 upload mbps. for a few weeks in july almost no resolvable speed or connection - telkom works in our street all the time and loads of new exchange boxes fitted but just no speed on adsl

jonkershoek rd mosterstdrift - absolutely terrible. at least now at times I get 3mbps but at night it chokes to 0,2 mbps
new switchgear installed and adept my provider- 4 to 10 m line
just to freak me out now church street has gone down as well - it blue service provider. seems telkom likes working here and other construction we get interrupted service

1 Meg uncapped from Afrihost. Flawless.

The line has gone down probably for 3 days so far this year. It seemed to then be Telkoms fault.

Location: North of Merry Man

Seems that I'm having issues again, standard congestion symptoms with high latency after hours. Central Stellenbosch.

Having issues as well today. High latency with spikes every now and then. Getting around 170ms traceroutes to local servers where it should be 10 - 50 ms. International is even higher and the spikes/packet loss make trying to do anything more than browse nigh impossible.

I'm in central Stellenbosch near PnP. I've had this issue before, but they resolved it after spending some time bugging TelkomZA, but it seems to be back.

Something also wrong with my connection today, going to phone telkom tomorrow because I can barely browse on both my openweb and my afihost account.

Often frustrated by high latency, cannot yet pinpoint it - need to develop my understanding, admittedly. Sometimes download speed very low.

In Stellenbosch, Welgevonden on 2Mbps. Speed is actually OK. ADSL connection in this area was down for a few hours at least 6 or 7 times this year.

Been having trouble for the last 3 weeks or so. Slow download speeds, videos generally have to buffer or stream at low bitrates. Latency also not great, but that affects me less.
Speedtest.net to local servers: ~30ms ping (but >300ms sometimes), 0.8-1.5Mbps dl, <0.5Mpbs ul.

No Problem in Onder-Papegaaiberg

We had congestion problems in Onder-Papegaaiberg from September 2012. Telkom eventually resolved the problem in April 2013 (at least my line has been running fine since then). Max line speed available at the exchange is 4mbps though.

Something was seriously wrong earlier today / this evening in Stellenbosch.

And like magic it is all back to normal again now...

I'm also having congestion slight issues in Die Boord, Stellenbosch. Are code is 021 887 xxxx.

My download speeds only reach 4Mbps at around 03:30 and then start to decline again from 06:30. For most of the day it would typically be anything from 2Mbps-3Mbps, and I've tried MWEB 4Mbps Uncapped, WebAfrica prepaid and now I'm using OpenWeb Gamers' King Uncapped 4Mbps.

Since its weekend, the download speed is also not that bad either:
* Ignore this ping result.

A colleague of mine is having much worse congestion issues in the upper part of Die Boord and the DSLAM is like 10m away from his modem! I've never seen line attenuations as low as his:
1.0dB downstream and 0.5dB upstream line attenuation
His latencies are also OK, but he's unable to even get 2Mbps on his 4Mbps account.
I'll ask him to post later on Monday.

Anyone else having issues tonight? I'm barely getting 1Mbps on my 4Mbps Afrihost GamersKing uncapped tonight!

I'm in Die Boord (021 887 xxxx).

My latency is still fine.

I'm having issues only at night with international only. Ping to local servers is stable and low at all times, and international servers during the day are stable at 300ms. But at night, the international pings fluctuate heavily from 300 - 1500ms. Not sure if this is a general issue at the moment, I've been a bit out of the loop.

Definitely having throughput issues. I can't get over +-81kB/s on my Afrihost or Internet Solutions accounts. Upload is fine.

Earlier today I was maxing out my 2mb line.

Serious issues in Rozendal atm:

On my 4MBs capped account from the Afrihost clientzone:

Current Downstream Sync
509kbps
The current download speed established between the DSLAM and your modem.
