Hi all, does anyone have an idea as to exactly when they will be bumping all the 384 lines up to 1meg lines?? Will it be rolled out or all moved over on a set date?

24th Aug, but in the background i bilieve there is work being done to prepare for the bulk upgrade on that day.

I got confirmation from a Telkom technician last week that they have already started with upgrades in the Cape Town area.

I just had my line bumped up from 4mb to:

ADSL 640 / 6144 kbps

I also see on my IS control panel there is a 6144 kbps uncapped bandwidth account option.

I could care less for more speed but desperately need more upload. is it even possible to have upload above 512 with the standard telkom offerings?

I was just given 640 upload

My post was kinda in response to your post.

Anyway, it's cool to know that you have 640 upload, the question is, how did you (and how do I) get it?

Even 640 isn't enough for me. It's a welcome upgrade, but still isn't enough for My needs.

you can get up to 1mbs upload for a while now if you get your line to sync at 10mb/1mb, you need stay close to dslam and your area needs to support up to 10mbs.

hummercellc also trailed the vdsl he was getting 5mbs upload and 10mbs download, vdsl should be able in certain areas in the next few months i would guess.
