So I popped in at Telkom after work at 6pm yesterday and paid my bills and ordered an upgrade on my line from a 2mbps to a 4mbps. Got home 45 mins later and my internet was down. Restarted my router and to my shock... 4mbps. New world record?

No, Telkom can be pretty efficient. Some people just like to hate on them since they are being "cool" by doing so.

They're very efficient - but they still have to do small things right. First thing would be phoning a client.

I've had no Internet for a week and have things to do, even though Telkom have been very efficient and been to the house twice in that time.

You carried your bill around IRL to pay it? That is madness.

Just because they can click a tickbox within 45 minutes doesn't mean that they're efficient. They are not and should have more haters. :D

They actually arrived at my gate within 3 hours of me logging a fault ; twice.

well thing with telkom is, upgradeing or paying more are always fast, all my speed upgraded sent fast ,when the line goes down the crapper and to get it fixed thats when the problems start :P logging a fault they come out to fix it with in 2days but ,its a gamble some tech work till its fixed some just "useless" so it may require you to log the same fault more than once

That's pretty fast. When i called in to upgrade my line from 2mb to 4mb recently the agent on the phone told me it should be instant and then when she tried to do it, it wouldn't work and then she told me it would take up to 48 hours. Ended up taking 4 days, but they accidently put me onto 10mb, so i just kept quiet but then at the end of the month it switched down to 4 :/

Dont notice much difference between 2mbps and 4mbps watching series on Kodi with Genisis plugin. Thought it would be much better but not so.

No need to apologise, I didn't exactly state that from the outset. Watched a bit more last night and I dont know if the connection has "settled down" but the viewing on kodi was much better, no problems at all. Had youtube running and played some games simultaneously with no problems as well. I'm on a 100gb fatpipe special and its doing a good job so far.
