I've just gotten my ADSL line installed yesterday, and I need a way to get an accurate account of how much I've downloaded over ADSL, as I figure I've already done over 500 - 600MB in about a day on a 192k line.
I've been using NetMeter, but I'm using a few different computers on the line at different times (my laptop downstairs thru wireless, etc) and obviously this only checks the usage on one particular computer. Also, these download monitors have to be set to check LAN usage in order to get the ADSL usage, so if I send files over the LAN directly, it will affect my perceived ADSL usage total without me having a way of seperating it.
Anyway, the line's been working very well, and my wireless connection is nice and reliable. I only wish there wasn't this ridiculous 3gig cap, it really puts a damper on things, it's like always having to look over your shoulder in life. It's a pretty crappy thing to have on your mind, very sad.
I'd be sooo happy if it was an unlimited connection like it bloody well should be, even with the ridiculous prices we pay, I could accept them if there was a decent amount of bandwidth allocated to me. And I mean, wtf, a 192kb connection should be uncapped because I mean wtf is the point of capping a 192 connection, it's a fcking joke!
