Adults without friends.

Doritos... mmmmm.

Seriaaas.
Justa lookata my avataar.

Y'see?

My mates selling his small holding in the kzn midlands that comes with a massive 5 bedroom house and a cottage off in the corner should you ever get the itch.

Ooooh... maybe in a safer country... a lonesome recluse on a small holding here... not such a good idea perhaps.

I knew someone who was shot in the stomach and she died in her children's arms in the midlands... the shooters stole her cellphone and car keys.

I simply don't have time for friends. And I don't do the sort of social activities that get you friends in any case - drinking, sports, outdoor activities. I have a full family life w/ 2 toddlers, I work two jobs, and my church life is also very active - not in a social sense so much but we see a lot of each other. That and my wife is also my best friend. I don't particularly feel a lack, except sometimes I realize that I literally NEVER get to go off and do guy things like lanning or whatever, but I'm just in a different place in my life.

We had a small group of close friends. They all disappeared (still live in the same places). I have no idea what is going on or what happened. In the one case I think it is depression.

My experience has you grow older your friends are still your friends but you just see them less and less often, I'm 26 and some of my friends I only see them like once a year.

EDIT: I'm in a new location now for 2 weeks still haven't made any new friends has of yet

Any middle aged adults here without any friends?

When I say friends, I mean people you can confide in, and communicate with regularly.

I can't imagine not having any in a decade or two, and it pains me to see certain people in my life who don't have this.

How the **** do you survive without buddies?

:(

I use to not really need friends all that much but I find myself enjoying a busy social life more and more.

For some socialising is tiresome and not really any fun. Each to his / her own.

It does seem to be as people get more involved in their relationships and building a family their group of friends naturally shrinks to 0.

Being (mostly) single means I spend as much time as possible with my friends.

I don't have a friend who I can confide in per se... I have various people I have known for a long time and I do talk to them from time to time... I guess those are my friends? I have friends with benefits :D ... do they also count as friends? I usually confide in my brother and mother.... and sometimes my fiancee (rarely) ....

I had a lot more friends when I was younger... I think that now I rely on my partner for that kind of bond.

We still have "friends" but very few that could be considered the kind of people that we could confide in. Most of the people I have had that relationship with have let me down, so I have maintained a more casual friendship with them.

Was easy to have lots of buddies when I was young and single, everyone is your friends when you are out jolling. Now we party less so we are a lot less social, also I have moved away from my friends (moved to CT) so that cut off a lot of the casual friends I have.

And this.

As you get older, all your friends tend to catch this disease called "marriage", meaning they spend all the time they aren't working, doing stuff like shopping for curtains, fixing the roof or being forced to have dinner every night with his in-laws, sit at home getting lectured, or some other emasculating nonsense. It's not that they don't want to do fun stuff with you anymore, go out for drinks or come over for a braai, it's just that they literally don't have time anymore. What sucks the most is that on the rare occasions when you do see your friends, you'll often notice a little more of them has died since the last time, you see it in their eyes...

WTF dude? not sure where you coming from with this post, a broken home or have you come off a bad divorce?

Being married to a soul mate is incredible.

Am I the only one that noticed the friends with benefits AND a fiancee?

Anyway. I'm a recluse. I'm also paranoid, so I imagine out of all of us I'm most likely to go live in a cave with a tinfoil hat and a shotgun. Fortunately my better half keeps me socialised. Barely.
