The tech from Aerosat payed me a visit this morning. He upgraded the firmware on the box and things seem to be going much better. I will keep you guys updated.
Blegh, I'm going to have to log another call tomorrow. Had soo much **** with the connection tonight. Slow browsing, sites not loading at all. Still been having some trouble lately...
I have so much trouble with youtube, I cannot get even one video to stream or even just buffer til the end. It buffers to 1min and then stops.
I'm upgrading to the 192kb package next month, so lets hope it goes better...
I am having the same problems that Apoc #19 wrote about. I am quite disappointed with the link consistancy and download speeds. They are not better than my old telkom landline.
Aerosat!!! please it never works .They blame the tower for four months I have been trying to get them to fix the problem you must be very desperate to use this. Do not even think of trying to contact the management as you will never get to speak to them the staff at Aerosat make sure about that.
After hours there is no assitants for a qualified tech there is a person that answers the telephone to inform you to turn you computer on and off. Or else that they shall call you back which never happens. Please you must be extremely desperate telcom is a puppy compared as it is a government but this happens to be a private company what a laugh!!!!!!
hey guys i have heard many good things about aerosat on this site about aerosat. BUT i had no idea that i would not be allowed to use rapidshare, torrents or P2P programs, i find this very annoying as this is the sole reason i got an internet connection now that i have paid the huge installation fee i feel it would be a waste to disconect from aerosat.
Pleeeaaasssee if anyone out there has managed to get rapidshare, torrents or P2P programs to work please let me know feel free to email me at [email protected]
actualy the rapidshare thing is not aerosats fault.
Aerosat is using transparent proxies and Rapidshare is using a new ip detection method and banned the use of transparent proxies. I belive telkom is having the same problems as are most isp's in our country, it is quite a common problem, best is to get yourself a rapidshare account, it will save you much frustrations.
but yes, aerosat or telkom ( not sure which, but i do believe i was told it is a telkom error ) has been having issues for about a week now, i have not been able to browse the net a single night/day for the last 6 days or so without waiting a good 5-10 mins for a page to open, that includes google and local sites. hope aerosat fixes it soon, it is really annoying. What can you do tho, but sit and wait ... IT is only a browsing error tho, online gaming and downloads are still working perfectly, i am sure it will be fixed soon.
Pitty that telkom still has monopoly, things were meant to change this year, but i expect telkom and other parties will delay neotel for as long as they possibly can.
My Aerosat link has settled nicely since the last tech visit. Thanks guys. The best way to fault find your link to them is to ping 10.10.10.1 if the times are better than 20ms and there is no packet loss the problems are at Aerosat itself and not between your link and the towers. If the ping times are 100 to more ms the link is bad and surfing will be terrible.
So to summarize: If the link is good then the 64k package is much better than telkom hitting 15KB/s compared to 4KB/s max with telkom 64k line. So if you just surf it should be ok.
