Affirmative Action Bake Sale

My grandmother, had 9 of her 10 siblings killed, her mother and father also, at the concentration camps. She was the 10th who survived. Our community was so devastated that it is estimated that if it was not for the concentration camps our population would have outnumbered any other race in South-Africa today.

Furthermore, farms run by Afrikaans boere, are 16 times more productive than any other race in Africa. I was born Afrikaans, I don't like or respect any culture, including my own. I only respect that which deserves my respect. What I respect of the Afrikaans culture is doing something to the best of their ability, with all measure of dedication, commitment and self-sacrifice. That carries allot of weight and for that the Afrikaans culture is known overseas, not for Apartheid anymore, which is our one blemish, which we did acknowledge and correct.

Our communities should work together and pool our greatest strengths to succeed, instead we are not evaluated on merit but on skin color. If you don't earn your way to the top, you have not achieved anything, claiming victory when you stand at the top is then, pathetic. AA enables, exactly that.

What the Afrikaans community achieved up to when Apartheid started, is our standard. What is your standard Boyrock? What has Africa done to deserve my adoration. Respect us, even if we are evil. I respect Hitler, he was a great leader, but I despise his actions. Can you do the same?

whoohoo nice one mate .... i love and support everything you said ...

Hitler is still the most respected Leader of all times ....

Regardless of whether they were english or afrikaans, farmers back then profited off the mistreatment of labourers and the relocation of Africans during the apartheid regime:

Forced removals

During the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s, the government implemented a policy of 'resettlement', to force people to move to their designated 'group areas'. Some argue that over three and a half million people were forced to resettle during this period. The victims of these removals included:

* Labour tenants on white-owned farms
* The inhabitants of the so-called 'black spots', areas of African-owned land surrounded by white farms

Legacies of apartheid
Many of the inequalities created and maintained by apartheid still remain in South Africa. The country has one of the most unequal income distribution patterns in the world: approximately 60% of the population earns less than R42,000 per annum (about US$7,000), whereas 2.2% of the population has an income exceeding R360,000 per annum (about US$50,000. Poverty in South Africa is still largely defined by skin colour, with black people making up around 90% of the country's poor.[21] Subsequently, the government has implemented a policy of Black Economic Empowerment. Eighty percent of farming land still remains in the hands of white farmers;[22] the requirement that claimants for restoration of land seized during the apartheid era make a contribution towards the cost of the land "excludes the poorest layers of the population altogether",[21] while a large number of white farmers have been murdered since 1994 in what campaign groups[23] claim is a campaign of genocide.

This doesn't excuse the horrific farm attacks though, if they learn't anything from the people who brought around change in this country they'd realise that the answer to problems doesn't lie in violence but forgiveness.

Slightly O/T One thing I still don't understand the justification of is since when do tenants have a right to land? Surely by its very definition if you're renting you don't own the land and only have a right to live there as long as your contract/lease extends.

Oh yes a little bit on these forced removals. My grandfather was removed from he's family farm when the government implemented the homeland system, and he was white.

a Couple of years back, my uncle decided to put in a land claim and was told....sorry, you are white, you cannot put in a land claim.

I am so sick and tired of this "idea" that all white people lived on a golden cloud and were served day and night.

I did not have free schooling like now, my parents were poor (mother was a typist, and my dad was a normal beat cop), they struggled day in and day out. When I applied to uni and got in, there was no golden handshake and a bursary because I am a minority, I had to get loans. When I finished uni, and could not get a job, there was no affirmative action to help me out, I took odd jobs to pay of my loan, I worked as a barman 6 days a week 13 hours a day, and there was no union that were up in arms if I was mistreated.

Remember not only black people suffered, but they got more media attention

Quite a bit of this has been off topic anyways :D

When have tenants claimed ownership of land Syndyre? I also can't think of any reason why it would be legit.

As for the whole AA/Apartheid thing... I had nothing to do with Apartheid, nothing to do with the ignorant idiot racists who decided it would be a great idea to marginalize an entire race. And yet I'm being punished for it. Quite a bit like punishing the current Germans for what Hitler did.

And yes, Hitler is/was respected or at least recognised as a great leader. A total pillock and a mass murderer but still a great leader.

What is the use of giving the farms back to the black people if they don't know how to farm commercially ? rather let the white farmer use the land to produce food and emply workers.

I personally know of a case where its happening, thought it was implied by the Wikipedia article but reading it again its not. ;) I'll look for links later to something similar when I get a chance. Legally though if someone is on your property for more than 48 hours you can't remove them without a court order which I also think is ridiculous.

A lot of us are in the same situation. Do they really intend for it to be fair though or is it ultimately just a political ploy.

This is clearly a racist comment, and has no place on this forum, granted Boyrock is a newbie, but he should learn - doubt we will be hearing from him again

Just the reaction provoked, shows the general mentality of the people on this forum.

Well, no one is ever going to change the way you think or feel about the other people of this country.

Anyway, best of luck.

Boyrock, xtermin8or is a supporter and defends the government a lot on this forum. And from some of the emails he post maybe even got a job in politics :D

And look at his comment about your post...
