Affordable Keyboard - Mechanical or not?

I picked up a marvo kg909 for R199 at Takealot about two weeks ago, unfortunately they've now gone back to R400 something for unknown reason. You won't like them as they are rainbow though. But it is using outemu blue switches which don't feel bad at all. Beats the "mechincal" membrane Redragon I had.

Can you make all the lights one colour so it is not christmas tree?

Are mechanical keyboards less susceptible to the way keys become loose over time and then sometimes stick when you press them?

Yes because it's not using a membrane. But there are other issues that could pop up.

I don't think it's because of the membrane, I think it's because the holes the keys are placed into or the bottom peg part of the key wears down.

That is going to take a lot more to wear down than a traditional membrane keyboard one.IMG_20190805_121434.jpeg

kg950 & kg954g, you can set all keys to a single colour of your choice and they have red switches.

Evetech seems to be the only sellers for these? They are going to charge me a ridiculous shipping extortion and if something goes wrong I am going to have to pay it another two times. :cautious:

Good news: Delta 5 still has a few 502's left on the shelf for R449 (ex courier)
I use eparcel.co.za

Else, not backlit, but seems like a solid choice: Logitech K280
spill-resistant chassis and low-profile keys designed to withstand up to 10 million keystrokes...
