I have a client who wants to move from 20Gb capped at Mweb to 20Gb capped at Afrihost.

I'm running some downloads and speed tests which appear quite acceptable but on a holiday weekend this should be expected.

Should I get vastly different responses during peak business hours or is it a safe choice by comparison ?

I've never had issues with my Afrihost capped account... I would say it's a safe move? I have always gotten fullspeed on the account whenever I've used it.

Afrihost capped : thumbs up

don't even ask about uncapped.

+1 to the above... their capped accounts perform well.

Hi, Daveza

They're great! Just look at this incredible connection I've got to international sites on my 4mb, 60gb capped line:

Oh, wait. That's not good. That's awful.

They're great if you enjoy browsing at 56k modem speeds on your ADSL line.

EDIT: Without the sarcasm, I find the performance spotty at best. Sometimes it flies, but most times it hovers between 50-120kb. Take it as you will, others here seem to have great experience with them, mine has been subpar.

TheHand - you're probably on a congested exchange. While there was a period of a few weeks where performance was erratic for me, over the past year it's been awesome - I get 1MB/s downloads any time of day or night. I'm on a 60GB account.
