Afrihost 4mb Uncapped RAGE Trial

Getting 468 KB/s . Full speed ahead no problems.
Awesome again from AFRIHOST!
 
Just a note:-

These vouchers are running on the MTN network, and so uses a different management system to that being employed on our normal IS accounts. We're still working out the kinks (not bugs) in the system, and the more guys who make use of their vouchers, the more feedback we can get on improvements and tweaks to be made. So thanks :)

As far as I understand, these accounts prioritised by activity, so running multiple processes will mean that VOiP, SSH, VPN activities will take priority over torrent, NNTP and other P2P. so if there are multiple processes running, the lowest protocols could be running at approx. 1/7 of the available speeds. Depending on your line speed, this could be extremely slow. But if P2P is the only process running, it could run on full speeds.

Please send us any feedback or questions you may have, or PM me detailed reports so that we can look into every scenario. I would REALLY appreciate that :)
 
I didn't know these were on mtn. Will use mine as soon as I get home.
 
AfriMan, how about sending some vouchers to your current Uncapped subscribers in other provences instead of keeping the testing limited to Gauteng area? :-)
 
Tested on a 10 Mbps line.
Steam downloads ran full-speed (~3.9Mbps) all the time.
Speedtest consistently reports 3.9 - 3.92 Mbps

Latencies to servers on the IS network failed (quake.isgaming.co.za). It was mostly great (comparable to my capped accounts), but occasionally it would jump up to 240 ms and just stay there (ie not jitter but a constant ~240ms).
 
Yip. It's a pity that only people that attended the RAGE could get their hands on the free Uncapped Trial to test the MTN network.

Us who lives in Cape Town didn't get that oppurtunity.

Seeing that I've had terrible speed problem on Afrihost for two months while using their 10mb Uncapped account I would really love to try out the MTN network.

That sucks since I wanted to test the uncapped trial and couldn't make it to rage cause of the weather/money

Ask the person who does it then and change it to a Mybb trial

After a while of pathetic torrent speeds (possibly something updating in the background) my speeds have remained at around 200KB/s.

What are the details for the news server? Tried the following with no luck on Grabit:

port 119
No username/password
