Thanks for making it clear as to why we won't be seeing sub -R10 pricing any time soon! No faffing about protecting Telkom but honest about whats restricting the market! Good move Gian :)
 
Cell C and Afrihost must be the only two companies in the country making an effort to reduce prices and provide a good customer experience.

"If someone has managed to sign up for the special they will always get this price as long as they are with Afrihost or do not change their package."

@dd1313, note that the 10mbit Line & 10GB Data bundle at Web Africa goes for R599.

Line Rental - R413
Data - R186
Price Per GB - R18.60

Also, the first 3 month special is at R399, effectively meaning that the data is free and you get R14 off your line rental for the first 3 months. Data activated immediately.

I wouldn't say they are the only ones. Mweb has also rocked the boat a while back.

At least those of paying twice the price for our capped accounts have a better understanding.

Would have been good etiquette to drop your existing customers an email so they know what's going on.
 
I wish WebAfrica could wake up and give us better deals like this.

Line rental from telkom: R413
10GB from Afrihost: R99

Total cost: R512

R87 less than WA, plus your line is "neutral" so you are not locked into any ISP

Plus you get topups at R29 per gig, and mostly R29 per 2 gigs.

Sorry WA, in my opinion you lose. And please don't pull the "we have a more reliable network" tune, we use you as an ISP and your network sucks just as much as any other ADSL network.
 
The R1 promotion ends in April, after which the following prices will hold:

1. 1GB free and 2GB extra data for R39
2. 1GB free and 4GB extra data for R65
3. 1GB free and 9GB extra data for R99

I see no mention of the new pricing on their website..does that mean it has ended. Also tried to migrate to the special 1 + 9 GB, but nada....

What happened to ...."after which the following prices will hold"?

You would have to receive an email from them with a secret link to the special. The link is linked to your account in their client zone.
 
Yeah +1 for can't find this special on the website. Very funny myBB/afrihost. Hilarious.

you can have all the specials you want but you still throttle your clients and move them to is for using 15gigs a month on your uncapped. Unforgivable!
 
i just upgraded from my 4gig package to the R99 10gig package. ABSOLUTLY AWSOME!!! it was sooo simple, so easy, sop effortless.
 
wow i cant belive i registered now only on this site lol, yet iv been accessing it for like ever,just never posted anything on the forums,guess i got alota catching up to do
