Afrihost and international speed issues

@AfriMan, should we all just leave? Your network clearly doesn't have the capacity to provide a decent level of service and you haven't been forthcoming about what/if anything is being done about it!

I would like this info as well. Tomorrow is notice day, else im stuck with the same service for another month. Tell me when (DATE PLEASE!) more data will be provisioned. No answer by 12pm 25 October and I will assume the answer is 'we dont know' and I will cancel my account. Ive had enough of this.
Doesn't look like any details are forthcoming, it's 2 minutes past your deadline and the only feedback that I saw was that the Directors at Afrihost were busy with something but there are no details that can be shared at this time. Pretty much the same thing that has been said the past month and couple of days.
*Edited to correct "that" to "like".

@AfriMan, The most disingenuous part of all of this is that your network status page states that the network is fully operational!

We had a notice on our page yesterday mentioning the increased latency :(

Latency isn't the problem. A lack of international capacity is!

I think the demand is causing some spikes in latency as we experienced yesterday which is probably hampering the general throughput. Our team are working on solutions to have this sorted out though.

Sort out soon or 6 weeks?

@Afriguy Why cant I get more than 350KB/s on my capped account but FNBCONNECT is hitting 3.8MB/s? I shouldn't be throttled or shaped because i am on a 50Gig bundle.

Capped accounts definitely aren't shaped at all, concerning that you're seeing poor throughput :(
Could you PM me some more info and your details on this and I'll have a look to see what could be causing this.

So I having the same issue...

But mine just seems to be during the day. When im not busy i like to play the odd online game and constantly sit over 300ms which is really not great. When i tracert to their international server, im getting high latency on the MTN network. Now i have sent the tracert to both Afrihost support and afriman today, I hope i get a reply soon.

Where abouts are you based?
Seeing latency from hop 3 onwards isn't cool, sorry :( If you've PM'ed AfriMan I'm sure he'll have things sorted out for you ASAP!

Yes. 4Mbps line...

Seems there are a lot of inconsistencies with some people reporting great speeds and others not.

Heya afriguy,

I sent you a pm

Just got some feedback from our Engineers. Seems the whole of Afrihost's accounts are under heavy load (MTN) - Capped, Home Uncapped, Business Uncapped. IS is running @ full speed though.

Our Northern Region is quite busy, better than yesterday though! Not all clients are being affected, but we're still pinning down the details to have no clients affected by this.
