Afrihost, Axxess ADSL network problems

Axxess call centre gave me the same line this morning... Just got back online, cancelled my Axxess account, can anyone recommend an ISP that is not Axxess, Afrihost or OpenWeb?
 
I also received 3 smses from Afrihost stating they are having issues.

I havent touched my free 1gig account in a long time.

They are shyt scared and trying to cover their behinds by sending smses and choosing to update the status of their sites. Afrihost doesnt want anybody else laying a complaint with ISPA hence all this effort. Guess they dont want to be fined again.


My internet from Web Africa has been working nicely all day long...
 
I also got notification SMSes, great that they inform their customers but I haven't been for a long time.
 
MTN is a **** !!! I would never use their network .

Vodacom is the best in quality

See, there's your mistake. Only about 90% of clients way back then expressed their concern about the MTN decision, but hey.. here we are again (still) paying money for a big fat circle-jerk.

More like a very convenient excuse that can't be blamed on any visible entity. I hear that Gian guy giggling as he's skipping all the way to the bank.
 
it actually does not take that much to DDos an ADSL network.

1. ADSL ISP's dont need much back-haul due to the slow connection speeds of adsl
2. IPC is thin as a razor due to high Telkom Cost.
3. their margins on Servers systems are also small as they do not expect large numbers of authentications at once. i.e. like when DDoss attacks cause their clients to drop connections.

So it only takes a few hundred mbits to push it over the edge.

Well I am giving Afrihost until the end of the month to sort out their network , if its still so slow and unreliable then my 20Mbps uncapped account will be moving elsewhere away from MTN

If you haven't been moved over to the AfriGreen network you should PM one of the reps to transfer your account. AfriGreen have been working very well for me. :)
