Are these results fairly consistent or is has there been no improvement at all?

Run a few tests, if you still see the spikes in latency on the 2nd hop it could indicate something wrong on your exchange.

Nope, should I be? A friend of mine isn't and his ping is fine in-game (10km from me) and I haven't been using it before and had no issues up until a day ago.

Seeing a timeout on a traceroute doesn't always mean packet loss

Lets run some more tests on your line to see what's happening there.

Keep running the tests though, it may be a good idea to open up a Support ticket with your findings so all the info is in one place
