So then its better to go back to the 8Mbps account? No use in giving money away

It would depend if your ADSL line is running at 10Mbps or 8Mbps at the moment. You can either send me a PM with the ADSL line number or you can check the line sync on your ADSL modem.

I am not able to access youtube or any google related websites, they all fail to load. neither my phone nor pc can get access

Very strange!

Are you able to ping or run a traceroute to those services at all?

Can you check what your ADSL modem's DNS settings are?

They say the line is running at 10Mbps, and they say my account is running at the same, but as I keep on saying I am seeing zero speed improvement?

The line is definitely running at 10Mbps at the moment.

Ideally your download speed for a 10Mbps connection should be between 7.2Mbps and 8.4Mbps on speedtests such as speedtest.net.

On your Torrents / HTTP Downloads that roughly equates to 900KBps and 1050KBps.

How does that compare with what you are getting?

Download's are in the 600-800 range, and this is the same as before upgrading. I have downloaded from site like NVidia and Microsoft where the speeds are usually very good. Torrents are not a reliable test, but they also sit in this range occasionally going a bit higher.

I was told to try a download manager, but even then the speeds still seem to fall within the rage I mentioned above.

Speedtest vary and what is odd the local test is not always the fastest, speeds are ranging around 7.5Mbps which is still the same as before the upgrade.

Account has gone down the cr@pp3r now.....over 200 ping and 1MB speeds for a 10MB business account.....

Okay, I've just rest the profile for your Business Uncapped Account, then re-allocated it to the 10Mbps group, can you quickly restart your modem and test if there is any change.

Are you getting those results on an active download or on your speedtest at the moment?

Got your PM!

Your ADSL line looked a bit wonky, I was monitoring it for a few minutes and the sync changed quite a few times.

Thank you, it is much better now...should I get telkom to have a look at the line?

All 4 of my DSL accounts, Capped and Uncapped (Business).

As well as all 6 of my DSL lines.

Mweb, Vox & WebAfrica accounts are fine, Afrihost is horrible.

:(

Are you seeing those latencies on all of the ADSL lines using Afrihost accounts?

Have those latencies been at the high levels consistently? Are there certain services affected worse than others?

the whole of ah is looking seriously wonky
can you tell us why your latency is up to crap and please dont use you management software as an excuse
perhaps a capacity problem like last year with same symptoms??

I would say if it looked like an issue on our side, but during the five minutes I was monitoring the ADSL line the sync went from 10Mbps to 6.5Mbps to 4.5Mbps back to 10Mbps. A

I think we should keep an eye on it for a bit, and see how the connection behaves over the next few hours.
