Ok, send the PM with the test instructions, hope its not more tracert tests again? I keep on sending in test results and nothing gets any better.

No traceroutes, this time, but I will need you to temporarily change to a different account to see if that account behaves similarly or differently.

I'm also willing to help test this wonderful win10 issue. I should be able to test tomorrow morning if need be.

I managed to get some time now.
I just tested using a crystal web 1GB account. The updates downloaded at around 2Mbps. Changed back to AH - 0.1Mbps.
I went back and forth but the behaviour was consistent.

PM me with anything else needed to test please.

That's quite a remarkable difference. Will follow this up with our team to see if we can spot anything from our end. Thanks for testing!

It's not a remarkable difference. It's literally like stepping into the light! :p
Which is how it was when I 1st joined AH, I miss that time.

Do you know how issues in the network are tracked? Automated testing possibly?

I'm not sure how things are done exactly, I know a stack of automation is involved though.
Just confirmed with our team, there definitely are issues with MS and OSX updates at the moment - it's something we're working on improving.

Any updates on the Clareinch maintenance? Or is it still a mystery.

This is different to slow Windows updates though. I am not sure if the protocol or server used has changed somewhat in 8->10 but on my windows 8 machine I can download at around 1Mbps just fine. Is it slow? Yes. Is it usable? Yes.

Change over to windows 10 and it becomes unusably slow - only on Afrihost. It could be just another symptom of the problem with OSX and MS updates but my other updates still download. These don't.

The download speed is only 0.1Mbps (maximum, mostly lower) for windows 10 updates.

I would place a bet that the automated system does not include a windows 10 VM in it somewhere.

I think all MS updates aren't performing as we'd like though :( It's definitely something to fix as a priority though!

Day 6, no connection, I have been forced to go outside and spend time with other humans, it is unpleasant at best, the sunlight hurts my eyes too.

EDIT: Also MTN Data is slower than dial up where I live, with plenty of timeouts, so it seems I just wasted loads of money just so I could be able to function as a business. FAIL.

So ya, now with load shedding being at stage 2, my speeds are very nice today. I have noticed that when load shedding occurs, my speeds are better than when there isn't load shedding.
Tell me again how ALL the issues are due to my exchange?
Load shedding = less people using the network = less contention on the network = better speeds
Or am I missing something?
