YouTube just not working my side either. Ping of about 120ms

What really does get to me is that your wonderful network status page says all is fine, even after AfriGenie confirmed he noticed something happening too.

We have to get confirmation from the network team whether this is an issue on our side or not and then senior management decide whether we need to issue an alert via the Status Page.

I didn't pick up any issues on my side, so we'll need to test if this is a momentary wobble (and who's side it's on) and then go from there.

Why is the ping so high on local tests, my ping sits at 159ms cpt to cpt, where before it used to be around 15ms. This is on the speedtest hosted by this website??

Did we figure this out? Hopefully not a third night in a row :-)

Uhm... Why do I have difficulties downloading torrent files from nyaa.eu?

It is only AH where this issue is. Checked a friend with mweb. I can start the download but no guarantees on it actually completing. It just stalls at around 1KB.

Is it the .torrent file itself that's the problem or downloading and communicating with trackings/ peers once it's been loaded up into your app?

i wanted your suggestion on choice of package, currently im with Mweb 4m premium @ R899+telkom line rental which works out to be around R1066, I need to move to unshapped package therefore I was considering the following:

business 4M uncapped (R797+R166 telkom =R963/month)
vs
capped 20m @ 300GB/month (R924+R166 telkom = 1090/month)

I rarely go past 300GB a month but I would like to still enjoy my line at unshapped, would option would you suggest I opt for?

Obviously uncapped is still tempting...

To be honest with you, I would almost always recommend a Capped solution - especially if you don't really go over 300GB - the extra speed that you will get from a 20Mbps connection is a massive plus!

thanks for the speedy response, another question once the 300GB is done do I get charged out of bundle (if so how much) or do I get to top up? Is there relevant info/rate for this? Thanks

Once you have used your 300GB of data, you will be capped and will not be able to use any additional data until you Top-up. Our Top-ups are charged at R5 per GB, you are able to top-up via SMS, our ClientZone or even the new Afrihost App on Android and Apple devices.

We do also run 2-for-1 Top-ups are various times of the month for ADSL-based products. You can even opt for Afrihost Plus+ for R99 per month which gives you access to Simfy, permanent Double Data as well as Permanent 2-for-1 Top-ups. :)

Grabbing the .torrent file itself! Which is why it is weird. If I grab the text file it downloads fine.

Downloading the torrent file seems to work for me. I don't think it's blocked or anything like that. Might just be your torrent client playing up. It took a little while to get paired with a seeder (about 2-3 minutes) but I didn't think that was particularly unusual.

Came here to post about my abysmal latency issues, but I see that it is a known issue for a few days already.

I'm seeing 120ms+ to any local IP addresses on Business Uncapped! If I use my WebAfrica capped account, I'm seeing ~30ms.

Are we being routed via Europe or something? Throughput seems to be okay still, but WOW, those latencies!

Update:
Dialled up with four ADSL accounts on my router and pinged each one from the office (Vox Fibre). Results here: http://prntscr.com/7d1nud

"Your test account" refers to the test account that Simphiwe at Afrihost gave me to test.

Why are the Afrihost accounts performing so terribly?! I have asked two friends on Afrihost to test and they report the same thing, so it seems its not just Business Uncapped that is affected.

Update 2:
Aaaaaand its fixed. Would love to know what happened. Seems like the entire Afrihost Network was affected.
