What services are slow for you?
Hey afriman/genie/guy/girl!
Thanks for completely mizing my legitimate question two days ago, and rather responding to someone who was interested in a new line (sales over support I guess)
I guess who ever moderates this forum skipped the part where I mentioned we have 6 business lines with afrihost (yes, six), and need assistance.
Never mind then.
Load shedding definitely affects overall demand to a massive degree. I would agree that testing during loadshedding is not a reflection of overall network performance. We do notice that we can shape uncapped accounts a lot less, as demand definitely drops, depending on the time and areas affected.
Hi Afri guys... I received an SMS from Telkom this morning saying that my ADSL has been activated. However my DLINK modem says "unconfigured"
What might be the problem?
Is the ADSL line installation being done by Afrihost or by Telkom? In the past we've had Clients that requested ADSL lines from Afrihost receive a similar SMS before the actual line is ready.
Telkom did it.
Interesting... Would you mind sending me a PM with your line number. I can have a quick look to see if I can find out what is going on.
And here we go again, latency 200ms+ to local sites, so over this Sh*t!
Not sure if you saw my post last night?
I'm assuming the latency is around the MTN/ Telkom issue that's been reported for your DSLAM?
You tell me? the so called "Critical Care" who have done sweet nothing for me should know. Poor poor show, seriously very pissed at Afrihoax right now. Testing other ISP's which are fine.

It looks like MTN and Telkom are still trying to figure out who actually needs to replace the faulty hardware. As much as I want to keep you as a Client, if the actual infrastructure in your area is unable to support your connection, I don't think we can expect you to stay on an Afrihost account.
Oh well, I will just continue paying while they bicker.....
