Anyone else battling to get on to the AH website, slow browsing and streaming? Seems really really bad this morning.

You will get some bull excuse that you are routing to the incorrect BRAS and sweet nothing will be done, it is a Telkom problem, blah blah blah. Mine has been like this since last your November.
#Afrihost the king of excuses.

No no, this is their problem. The latency comes AFTER the Telkom network within their mtn network. They have two choices: fix it or give up a customer.

I understand that, but that was the excuse I got when pointing out the exact same thing to their so called "Critical Care"

Well I'll see what they say. If their next communication doesn't please me I'm gone.

I am trying to call Afrihost, but they keep on dropping my call! Why on earth would they do that? I have sent numerous requests for them to call me back, but I have heard nothing.

All I want them to do, is simply "un-suspend" my account that was suspended because I was waiting for Telkom to activate my line.

Can't believe I actually pay for this:

Ok I eventually managed to get thru to them, and they sorted me out

Hi Mr Afrihost.

My youtube has been wonky the past 5 months +-.

My streaming of youtube seems fine for 360p... (but 480p and 720p and 1080p , keeps buffering every 60seconds)

this only happens on the afrihost uncapped, my saix account doest buffer. so its not my telkom line

Morning Guys,

It definitely looks like the weekend wasn't great in terms of latency and speeds. Our Team is going over the logs and trying to see exactly what went wrong. If there isn't any change or improvement please let me know!

According to that your Youtube is streaming to a UK-based server instead of the local cache for YouTube, with your Afrihost account, could you check which DNS settings you are currently getting.

What's going on? Latency is double what it usually is and P2P won't go above 40KB/s. I checked and prioritisation is not enabled.

:(

Are you seeing your real-time speeds affected as well? Would perhaps be able to post a traceroute?

No. Youtube and browsing is fine. Latency is probably higher due to torrents running. Things might be fine. I think I'm just having bad luck with my downloads.
