Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - 2

I can not believe it takes so long to fix something so simple, poor poor show from everyone involved. This is just utter horse *

I feel you - been fighting pretty much the same thing since December.
It started off that the card that my line connects to was faulty (as per the Telkom technician) and now the exchange has a fault leading to congestion during peak times. Whether or not the fault is one in the same - I am not sure. Plus there is no ETR from Telkom. Brilliant.

We're pushing Telkom as best we can, as soon as there's feedback we'll be in touch.

Where did I hear this before? Oh on almost every page of this thread! The once king of DSL Afrihost has fallen. How did you service get so bad so quickly?

I think this is a separate issue, something that takes time between both MTN and Telkom to have your area resolved. I need to stress that if we had any control over this we'd have it fixed ages ago.

We can only continue to escalate and push for feedback where possible.
This would be exactly the same process last year, this year or three years ago.

I can only lol at these speeds, nothing else to do here, nothing ever changes.

I thought Afrihost = MTN now?

Yeah Im on 20Mbps business VDSL, its been terrible for the last month or so... other ISP accounts work perfectly. Even my old Openweb 8mbps silver account is faster than my 20mbps vdsl :/ . We have 4 business adsl/vdsl Accounts with afrihost and on the verge of cancelling all of them. Seems that afrihost has lost the plot. My fastest speedtest this week was around 3.8mbps down and 0.38 up. Should to be 17.5Mbps down and 0.800mbps up.

Afrihost 4Mb Business Uncapped.
Dear AH:
This is abysmal. Clearly we are now been taken for a ride. Waiting for the usual "this is terrible, did you run any diagnostics" explanation tomorrow.

Traceroutes etc? All over the show as usual. Latency from 28ms to 800ms in the space of an hour. Up and down.

I don't believe the AH support staff assurances anymore that the underlying root cause has been properly addressed.

I believe that your customers have on the whole been very patient, this unreliable connectivity has been the pattern since December. In 6 months a solution should have been found. If there was a proper solution in place, I (and multiple others on this forum) would not have to in total frustration post results like this again, and again, and again over the months in a futile attempt to make a point that our experience is simply not up to standard.

The FTTH advertising posters are already on several lamp posts in my area. Not a moment too soon. At this point any alternative looks attractive, even if I have to dig the trench myself.

speeds are completely down the crapper again today
wonder what crap will come out of the afripeeps mouths tomorrow as they are at the stage now again where they believe themselves with their bull**** stories

This is just crazy latency now. I reported the same thing yesterday and still we know nothing more.
Afrihost has gone from best to worst ISP in South Africa, and the funny thing is they don't even care enough to fix it.

My latency is crazy today. Around 300ms to Google. Nothing is downloading on my end, and I've tried rebooting.

For me it's getting worse as everybody is returning from their youth day parties.

Always funny how their wonderful status page stays green, until they cannot scrape the sh*t off the fan anymore. Then you get emails and communication from the big guns.
They always harp on that they have to confirm the issue and need approval that the status page can be updated. Bla Bla I cannot give a sh*t anymore.

JUST FIX YOUR CRAPPY SERVICE!!!!!

I have had high latency since November last year, this is the first time it has returned to normal... I know the feeling all to well, and the AfriTeam will apologise tomorrow and get their non existent team to look at things and tweak this, change that.
