From hero to zero, what happened to being the no1 Isp in the country? Seems like someone upstairs has decided to cut costs to make maximum profit instead of focusing on the customers, while all these issues aren't entirely afrihosts fault, how are other providers getting it right? You guys are now bottom of.the log.

I can categorically state that this is not the case. Gian and the Directors still value our Clients dearly.

I know things have definitely been better, we're taking the current network status very seriously, and once we start implementing the improvements, I am confident we'll be back on top.

And I'm not saying as a simple platitude, but I'm saying this because I mean it.

We're seeing much better realtime performance, but there could still be areas of contention. With the optimisation of traffic, this is probably going to affect torrents and P2P more.

Just for interest I went back to the first page of this thread and this was one of the posts then. This was on the 3rd of October last year. As you can see not a great deal has changed. I hope you can appreciate that this has really gone on long enough now.

There have been issues, that I can't deny, but things have certainly not been continuously bad since October.

I cannot emphasize this enough, we will get the network performing as it should, and our Team won't rest until it is.

All we need is a date.

Hey guys. I know there is shyte load of online gaming specials on this week (Summer deals, etc) and people are probably downloading like crazy. Not for the last two days I cannot access www.gog.com. International friends say they can access the page, but I cant. Who else cannot get to www.gog.com (Good old games). I want to see if Witcher 3 has new patches out, but cannot access them from any PC or device in my house.

That is not an appropriate answer at all and is exactly what is causing the anger to rise on this forum.

It is easy for me to guess at an arbitrary date and then keep pushing out that guess, but that would be disingenuous of me.

The Team could have things running at 100% tomorrow or Monday, I won't know until we actually start to see a positive improvement.

Hi!

Gog.com is definitely loading on my home connection at the moment, so it is definitely strange that you are unable to access it. Are you able to ping or run a traceroute to gog.com? I just want to make sure it isn't a DNS issue.

And Usenet services was available during the early hours of the morning and now DEAD again.

Send all the tracert, speedtest and pathpings to support while it is happening. And their reply? Everything is fine. Well guess what???? Everything is not fine!!!! This seems more and more like shaping to me

I apologize about the inconvenience this may of caused you.

The trace-routes your have sent us seem to be from our network and look to be perfect please advise but the traceroute seems to be fine and the 5.2Mbps on a 6Mbps package is about right.

If these are not the result please advise but it looks as though the traceroute is perfect.

Can you set your DNS to use 196.7.7.7 and then 8.8.8.8 as see if that makes any difference to Gog.com.

:(

Quite a few Users have reported similar issues, the Team is looking into this, at the moment the issue appears to be with P2P speeds and latencies that are fairly inconsistent.

Can you send me the ticket ID via PM perhaps?

do you guys as customers prefer to let the ISP handle your line or do you leave it with telkom?

what are the pros/cons? kindly explain, cause I am signing up to a new ISP and thinking whether

to keep my line with telkom or move it to the ISP, thanks!
