Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - 2

do you guys as customers prefer to let the ISP handle your line or do you leave it with telkom?

what are the pros/cons? kindly explain, cause I am signing up to a new ISP and thinking whether

to keep my line with telkom or move it to the ISP, thanks!
I hope you are not joining afrihost at this moment in time? Its the like the titanic at this moment of time. Rather wait until it improves or go with one of the new top rated ISP's in South Africa ( which Afrihost is certainly not apart of anymore) I have 4 x Business uncapped accounts at afrihost and all 4 is struggeling for the last couple of weeks. 2 x 20mb vdsl accounts, 1 x 10mb line and 1 x 6mb line at different locations.

Im switching over at the end of the month to somebody new like many other people ( if not most) will do as afrihost has been promising and promising with no results. They have defnitley lost the plot completely. I used to brag about afrihost to my friends and could recommend them to anyone but this has defnitley changed. Even support is horrible. Scares me to say this but I rate Afrihost under Openweb atm.

:(

I'm certainly not happy to hear that, but I guess the truth hurts sometimes.

The network is definitely not running as well as it could be, but our Support should never be horrible. If there is something you want me to check up on, you are welcome to PM me the details.

Thanks for the update, I'll pass it on to the Team, let's see if we can get it under control before it gets any worse!

So...
I have had now a windows 10 update downloading for a week...

Tell me SOMEBODY at least has it installed to test with?

Also: 1. No it isn't congestion, not for a week straight. 2. It's not my line - others have similar issues as well as the fact I can move tons of bandwidth in other places. 3. We are now at multiple months with the same issue and only excuses - can proper detail be sought on if win10 is actually being tested at all?

Are you seeing any other downloads not running at the correct speed?

Also, are you perhaps able to check which DNS servers your modem is using? It could impact which server the updates are being downloaded from.

I checked with both Afrihost default and google DNS. I am currently on google DNS with no difference in performance.

Consider yourself fortunate: I have logged a call, apparently Telkom are working on lines in the area, but this has been like this now for several days.

Thanks for checking, I'm trying to find out if the update is available on local servers or if it downloads from an overseas server.

Well latency sky high again, seems Afrihost have no cooking clue what they are doing... time to fly in those overseas specialists again, or drop your current vendor for some real system that works.

We're definitely putting some massive resources into finding solutions for this. In the short term we are working on any means we can to keep performance at the highest level possible. We hopefully will be able to implement some long term solutions to put this entire issue behind us. As soon as I have confirmed info that I can share, I will update here :(

:(

Yeesh, that damnable network card is not looking good. Let me see if I can get some sort of improvement on that.

Afternoon MyBB Guys!

We've been in discussion with the Higher-Ups, and we've now updated our Noticeboard with some details on the current network status and the upgrades that we have planned.

At the moment I can't go into anymore detail, but you're welcome to post any questions that you may have and I'll do my best to answer. :)

notice board doesn't say anything we don't already know
weekend is coming up so can we expect more crappy service like last week end when there is no support
