What's your latency looking like at the moment?

I'm just trying to narrow down some common issues here :) We aren't seeing general packet loss or high latency now, so sites not loading does seem to be a one off.
Please try and update your DNS to see if this helps.

Ok I just lowered myself to the level of changing my DNS. As suspected, it didn't do anything.

Please explain how DNS can cause my established TCP connection to drop.
Please explain how DNS can cause UDP packets to fail to go through.
Please also explain how DNS can cause an established ICMP ping to drop packets.

Please explain why you keep on saying the problem is DNS, when I give you tons of evidence the problem is _not_ DNS, as DNS _requires_ IP/TCP/UDP to work, and I am telling you that the problem is below DNS, yet you still treat me like a complete idiot and tell me to change my DNS like an insane lunatic - trying the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

Hhmm, that latency looks a bit dodgy. What's the experience like using another ISP?

I think it's part of the troubleshooting process - I'm just battling to see how you've determined that the issue is definitely TCP related? Nothing has been trended from our end and I can't replicate the issues.

If you're still having troubles later this evening drop AfriGenie a PM with your detailed results and we can check things out.

It's not part of any troubleshooting process, if I have already told you 5 times otherwise and you ignore all the facts.

I never said the problem was _definitely_ TCP related.

I said some of the errors are TCP related, such as this: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT, or this: 10060 - that is a TCP error. It means TCP can't connect. It is not a DNS error.
This is a DNS error: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET

Also, if an established TCP connection drops, that is not a DNS error, it is TCP.

Also, ICMP is not TCP, which means maybe it's an IP issue as UDP was also failing, as I stated earlier.

Torrents in the toilet AGAIN this morning... looks like shaping (and don't say that Business isnt shaped!)... this started at exactly 06:00 this morning, and it is only AH accounts that are affected. I have now switched to my Vox Fat pipe account, and back to full speed.

WTF is going on? When the F$@$@$ is this gonna end and get sorted?????

This end of the world is pathetic this morning ! Last night it was pumping along. Are the business accounts for email and Browsing the internet ?

Sure as hell would like to do more than that with this over priced package.

WHEN are you going to fix this seesaw " business account " out ?

Not getting much better performance over the normal heavily shaped AH uncapped accounts.

:( :( :( Not happy...

My Minecraft server is unplayable due to the lag, youtube is buffering like you can't believe. Not acceptable Afrihost no doubt come monday the promises and platitudes will fly, "tweaks are incoming" et al.

But at the end of the day I'm still paying for a service that's not working as it should and not getting any compensation for its lack of performance.

This is normal Afrihost protocol. Don't expect any real troubleshooting results, just the run-around. You're just being "optimised" (not shaped or throttled) at the end of the month/weekend. Par for the course with AH.

WHEN are you going to fix this seesaw " business account " out ?

There is nothing wrong with the package. As AH has said multiple times they see no flood of complaints and therefore there is no problem. "We don't have a crisis" (So to speak). It is either your (Line, modem, firewall, DNS, computer, anti-virus, etc., - [Did you try jiggling the cord?]).

The best you can do is to wait (ride the wave). If something is wrong it will be denied until it is fixed or until it becomes so large that they'll "learn from the experience".

All the best ;)

PS On AH my youtube is also in the tank, I literally cannot even load the website - Using backup Telkom account

youtube streaming on 240p only works.

Great internet weekend eh.

Yep absolutely ****ing lovely, contacted support got told there was an error on my account it will be reset. Good golly the problem still persists wonder why?
