Good day Afri*

Finally got a response from Jason at 4:02 asking for a traceroute and speedtest for MTN, a speedtest clearly isn't going to show slow traffic on port 25593 which is my main complaint at the moment.

They can't help you.

They are actively limiting all non standard protocols to ensure everyone can browse and send email.

They will make you run around in circles and never solve the problem, until they get more capacity.

I'm sure this is just a standard request, please provide as much test info as possible :)

This has been done already, as per my email to Eugene, the best way for you guys to replicate my problem is to simply attempt to login to my Minecraft server where you will be able to see how slow the traffic is, I have no idea how else to provide more than I already have.

So far I have provided:
Traceroutes
Pingpaths
Continuous pings
Speedtests
and actual in game footage showing the differences between Afrihost / Axxess / Webafrica

If there is some other way that I can detail my problems please let me know but to repeatedly supply the exact same is exhausting not just for me but for my patience.

I am spending a small fortune buying additional bandwidth from 3rd parties when I really shouldn't have to and to be completely honest after almost a month (first "fault" was logged on the 17th of last month after I had been having the problems for about a week) of backwards and forwards with your support my patience is just about up.

I'll have a chat with Eugene to see what can be done here.
I think it's best to keep the correspondence between yourself and Eugene. Adding Support to the party will most likely replicate a lot of work and add confusion.

To that I agree, however it should be noted that I have not heard anything from him in reply to my email, not even a confirmation that you guys were making a plan.

I'm chatting to him now, he'll reply ASAP. We're marking the mail as priority.

We can only manage it if you provide us with the test info.
Look, I know you've had a lot of line issues that have lasted for a really long time but we need to work together and have it sorted out. I'd love to just fix it, I can't though. And Telkom want to see clear results.

Cool. I apologise for my anger just now.

Right, I am willing to give this one last chance before I cancel this service.
What tests must I do and who must I send them to?

Please FW our Support team the following:

Traceroutes
Speedtests
Local router stats
Anything else you feel is relevant

We need a test from your Afrihost account and the Telkom guest account, or other ISP if you have one.
Remember to keep in mind that (last I checked anyway) the attenuation on your line is very poor which may be the cause. One we have this info from you, our team will be able to log a fault for you whereafter Telkom will need to investigate and resolve, as they did last time.

Just tested:

ScreenShot102.jpg

Nothing wrong there and I have been doing random checks on it throughout the day and it stays at those values, even when the Speedtest results showed under 1MB.

Could be intermittent, we'll have more access to detailed results on your line.
Also, the exchange's (or DSLAM's) attenuation is still very high here. Another clients line I just checked it on 7dB, my home line is 21dB just managing a 10Mbps sync.
Please complete the tests and mail our support team so we can get to the bottom of this.

My AH account is dead in the water. Dead as a door nail at the moment. Had to switch over to my free WA account.

Completely dead for the last 2+ hours.
I cannot even send email to your support team via my PC

Do tests, they said, it will help, they said.

How the hell must I do any tests if there is no f-ing connection......

Posting this from my phone.

Don't wanna be funny but seems like my p2p is running at full speed. I wonder if the IPC upgrades aren't happening and that is causing these up and down connections.

Google also loading again now

They are probably messing with the shaping, I mean optimization policies.
