Evening guys

Sorry I can't get to everyone's posts.
Looks like we're seeing intermittent DNS/ connectivity issues on our end. We're investigating.

The connectivity issues should be resolved, sorry about that :(
We'll continue to monitor for any further anomalies.

Another night and once again whole lot of nothing. 20Mbps Business VDSL and this is all I get.

20Mbps Busines VDSL (15-10-2014 21-20-00pm).JPG

Day after day, week after week, month after month, just tired of this sh*it.

If only we could get the products/services we subscribe to and pay for. But I think we are asking way too much.

Why?

AfriMan

Afrihost has problems. Why and how come? That is debatable.
I tried to play online last night, not pretty.
Lost connection time and time again. Why?
Nobody gives a two hooters to loyal supporter of Afrihost.
Switched over to WebAfrica and problems solved. They also have issues. But Afrihost have bigger issues.
Latency spiking over 2000ms. Should be below 250ms.

I have taken screen shoots of these events. Will post them if i have time on hand.

lol. That is quite a problem isn't it. I mean, you are in this month to month thing with Afrihost and they aren't delivering what you need. It's not like you can just cancel and move to another ISP that will provide you what you need? Oh no.

Rather post your dissatisfaction on a forum, and keep paying them. That will show them!

Have to agree here. Why are people staying loyal to this company is blatantly ripping them off? Do forum members have shares in Afrihost? And then there are those who say "but where will we go". ISPs are dime a dozen. Even if the others are crap, surely its better than Afrihost? If they not, simply move on to the next one (hence dime a dozen)?

I officially switched my internet to Webafrica yesterday and got myself a 40mbps business uncapped account. I can only imagine the sensation I experienced being able to stream youtube and hulu without any issues for the first time in weeks must be the same sensation as being released from 20 years in prison.

I requested a refund for this month from Afrihost as I'm paying them R3200pm for the 40mbps business uncapped service that has been running closer this month to their 2mbps uncapped account valued at R400. I feel this is fair as I've been paying a lot for something i wasn't getting. I sent this request yesterday, let see how the ISP of the year will responde, if they respond.

We've definitely shown in the past that we can deliver a good experience, and we're trying to offer the best we can while we manage demand with he resources we have at the moment. I know that once our new capacity is delivered we'll see the excellent performance that we expect.

We definitely care about the experience our clients are having and I promise that we're doing everything possible to rectify this. At the moment our resources are limited, but once we have upgraded we do expect that performance will improve and I feel that our network is pretty awesome when we're not experiencing these demand issues. We'll see that performance again very shortly when upgrades go live, I believe.

I get that you guys are upset and have decided on your own course of action. However, that is what works for you and I respect that. I think it's also fair that you respect other people's right to make their own decision. Whether others decide to make the same decision, or stay with us and trust us that we'll continue to work towards their best interest as we always have, is really entirely up to them.

Continually posting on other people's comments trying to convince them to cancel their accounts is not actually helping the forum grow or deliver value.

I'm sorry that we've experienced these problems and you're not getting the performance that you are used to. If you have applied to accounts, they will treat each case on its merits, but in general we believe that with upgrades to capacity imminent (which comes at a great cost to us but no additional cost to clients) we will see overall improvement and on the whole clients will still receive value for their money.

So what is the ETA on this upgrade?... you asking a lot to expect all your clients to keep paying with no indication of a resolution date. Amazing as well how there has been no official communication from your management about the issues? Normal companies issue outage reports etc. Instead all we have been greeted by is the confusion that reigns on your support desks and largely empty promises on forums.

Just like your constant question dodging on "tough" issues is not actually helping the forum grow or deliver value. Instead another rep is appointed to spew the same copy and paste nonsense to your customers?

Let us have our opinion. If you don't like it, say so, or ignore it.

I'm with Afriman on this. Complaining about lousy service is one thing, but shouting for others to change ISP and criticising those who don't is out of order.

The last time which I checked this is an open forum where forum member give advice to each other . Why giving advice in a situation where it seem that the supplier and his customers are living in a diffrent universes is a problem ?. You are just trying to shut up criticism which is understandable as a commercial entity .

Not at all. Complaining achieves nothing. People in SA are far too accepting of bad service. Sometimes they need a kick up the bum.

The only way companies learn is when something starts to affect their revenue.

Remember this isn't the first time that Afrihost has failed to plan properly.

Trick me once shame on you. Trick me twice shame on me.
