Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - 2

I'm sure our Critical Care guys will be in touch shortly.

and we still wait, but now I am in JHB for the rest of the week. You guys drop the ball continuously, amazing how you can claim that your network is fully functional as per your website (which is see has now changed). Poor performance continues and poor service, clueless.

It's hard to measure international service when we know changes are being made on the fly locally. I think it would probably be best to wait until the network is completely stable and settled and then test what issues remain to be addressed.

"When everything is fixed, then we will look at what needs to be fixed."

This is ridiculous. Are these issues ever going to be resolved? I think most people have been quite patient considering we are paying for a BUSINESS class service. I am going to lose it if one more Africrap support oke tells me to reset my router........

I'm tired of being shaped into the ground on home uncapped accounts and I'm leaving my current ISP. Looking at trying a business account instead. How does Afrihost's accounts perform? Is it worth it?

Whats issues are there? Their website says its unshaped accounts. Are there thresholds? High contention?

Network issues going on currently, would suggest you wait for it to be sorted before you sign up.

Wife is going on leave for December and I want to make sure she's got a decent Internet connection for her break from work. Any suggestions who to try?

Oh we know exactly what the problem is, and how it is affecting our users, the delay is with getting it fixed without breaking our entire network and having all of our clients sitting with zero throughput. As things stand now we have seen some improvement compared to last week, and the throughput to each account will continue to improve.

3 months and no improvement, and all your upgrades, requests for tests, requests to reboot routers etc. have no helped, my speed is worse now than what It was. No matter how many test I send via PM, to Critical Care nothing happens, and I am not the only one.

People might wonder why I have not cancelled, its the principle, if I leave you just get off the hook, your service is way below what is advertised.

As a side note you mention you know exactly what is wrong with the network, care to tell us?

All of the results, speedtests, and traceroutes you have submitted has actually helped us considerably in seeing how the network performs for different services.

I can understand what to keep us accountable and honest, and we will get the network improved and running exactly - and quite possibly even better - like before. We are taking none of you for granted, and I for really appreciate the assistance you guys have given me over the past week.

I agree 100% tomorrow will be a week since this latest debacle started. If you can please disable service for all 3G users and Uncapped accounts for the next week and let the rest of us work for a while that would be great. Personally I am of the opinion if you knew what was wrong this would have been fixed ages ago.

To add to this.

Since you know hat is wrong with your network please enlighten us on why "Video Streaming" never works even when downloads are running at full speed? Which in almost 4 months has been very rare!!!

Streaming has always been ****ty. I complained about this months ago as well. I even gave Critical Care my DSTV logon details, and they said there were never issues. I cant even watch the rugby without it streaming so badly, I am watching the first half while the game is already finished. Log on with any other ISP, and Supersport stream full screen high quality

The Mobile Data users run off of a completely separate and independent network run and managed by MTN, it does not run on our ADSL network at all.

I'm afraid it is not just a matter of switching off Uncapped users, as the problem is not a shortfall of bandwidth, but rather how the system allocates bandwidth to each account that connects to our ADSL systems. The primary problem being experienced by a portion of of users is that they receive throughput in fits and starts and not in a continuous stable state.
