Cannot download anything from my GOG account, speed sits at 50kb/s. Can I send you a list of the downloads I need, and then you download them for me, and courier them to me at your expense, as your network is not able to do the simplest things

I'm sure we'll see these issues resolved once and for all once one of the two POCs are switched on.

and then what will the next excuse be. Afrihost has so many issues, and I do feel sorry for you guys on the forums, but the service, the excuses, the promises, and nothing. Last time it was an IPC issue, then some equipment miss configuration, why only on your network.

Your network should be used a s test case for people studying IT, as I am sure there is no other network that is in such a poor condition. I wish I could sell a product and not provide it.

I think we're past all of this now, we don't see the POC stuff as a case study or whatever. It's us getting things fixed and involving the community to help us make the decision.

You need to look up the definition of a POC.

I know what it means, but the reason we're implementing something like this to everyone is for the reasons I mention above - as opposed to treating you guys like guinea pigs.

Here everything's still doing good.

I think a more applicable term should have been proof-of-technology (yes it is called POT) and if Afrihost was really clever in the marketing department they should have actually themed it "We are running a new network pilot".

I think this is going to be a business school case study for many years. These forums and social media are giving disgruntled and informed customers a powerful and influential platform to express themselves. Make or break stuff for any company.

The new POCs have definitely been shaped by what's been discussed online and the feedback from our clients.
We've taken key points to implement the gripes that everyone. I really think we can only go from strength to strength here.

Get this right and you will surely succeed. Personally I would prefer a service provider that listens and responds respectfully to customers and is transparent especially to technically savvy people as in this instance. A big part of the "experience" is related to my confidence that my chosen ISP is giving me the best overall service compared to alternatives. This confidence is earned through setting clear expectations and following through reliably. Not so much through wild marketing campaigns on the website. The next week or so is going to be very important for the AH team.

I definitely think we're going in this direction. We've always been really transparent. Personally though, we can probably be a bit more transparent though, it's super important.

To be fair, I think you guys have tried to be transparent and in any business there are always limits to what you share with customers. Most people (the "silent majority?") will respect that as long as they believe there is a genuine effort underway to resolve any issues. I still believe that this has been a s**tstorm of note for any technology company, so strength to AH to turn this around quickly.

Yeah I can agree with you there. Obviously I'd love to post up all the info we have floating around, but obviously can't release everything to project the business.
But saying that, we could have definitely been more proactive around the recent issues, and I think a lot of people within the team know that too.
