Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

I understand all that, but if the price is correct, i would effectively be paying R200 for my ADSL line rather than R300 on the other business bundles.

Well there are discounts in play when you bundle.
The price you see on the website under Bundled, that is the price for adsl line rental and data.

How they get to the prices, I don't care much, because in the end it is little bit cheaper to bundle than not.

yes, understood, but....

4MB is R697 bundled R897. Difference R200
6MB is R797 bundled R1097. Difference R300
8MB is R897 bundled R1197. Difference R300
10MB is R997 bundled R1297. Difference R300

Put another way the bundled saving on 4MB is R199 vs only R99 on the 6MB, 8MB and 10MB.

So I just want to confirm that the price for the 4MB bundle is correct because you cannot choose to purchase a bundle directly in the client panel. First you have to purchase the 4MB ADSL line (R399pm), and then purchase the 4MB business uncapped (R697pm), and only then can you bundle them... and hopefully arrive at the discounted price of R897.

That is what you will pay yes.
You are aware of the CPA yeah?

So that is what is advertised they can't charge you anything else.
They can increase and decrease after they give you notice and you can decide to accept a new price or cancel.

Is the general lack of feedback here an indication that few people are using Afrihost Business Uncapped or an indication that everyone using it is happy?

I think everyone is happy! I know a few who are using business accounts, and Telkom nor Mweb come close to what Afrihost offers.....

I'm not particularly happy, but the other Afrihost thread is frequented by their representatives more often. Youtube is too slow to stream acceptable quality and if Play Store downloads got any slower they would stop.

We are investigating why you are experiencing such poor performance regarding Google services. Will revert as soon as we have feedback from the network engineers.

Two weeks left to make up my mind. How is it going on these packages? Any significant after hours shaping?

Moving from Openweb 4MB Gold Uncapped due to poor daytime performance. I probably use between 100 and 200 Gigs per month. I want the best possible performance and minimum of shaping 24/7 and I don't want to spend more than I am currently spending. It is either 4MB Afrihost business uncapped, or Telkom Internet 4MB uncapped at this stage.

No Nothing.
I suggest you do most of you downloads during office hours, this is the time unshaped is guaranteed.
But at the same time I have not seen any shaping afterhours.
The downloads slow down a bit in the evenings not running at full speed always, just marginal slowing, but no shaping.
I make the suggestion so that there are more download bandwidth left for the home uncapped users when they want to download afterhours.

But in general the account have never been shaped, only notice downloads run a bit slower only when IPC hits capacity in the evenings.
But normal real-time services still run fine then.

Overall the business uncapped is a pleasure to use all hours.

I'm also contemplating switching to Afrihost business uncapped, I do most of my downloading during the day while at night it's mostly video streaming. Looking at the 6mbps account. Anyone have any issues with lagging streams at night (sometimes fairly high quality streams)?

Made the switch back to AH and their business account.

Murphy's law; when I tested it last month to check if this package will work for me everything worked well - now on the morning of the switch back to AH - I am getting a quarter of the speed I am supposed to.

I have already fired off my details to AfriMan -keeping my fingers crossed this gets resolved.

So incredibly tired of jumping between ISP's...

Exact same thing happened to me this morning. I'm getting 1mbps on a 4mbps business account :(

I've sent my details off to AfriMan as well.

Hi Gareth,

I just got sorted via telephone support. All good now.

Sad how pessimistic I've become, especially with regards to ISP's however in AHs defence they do always try and sort you out quickly and 8 of 10 times they succeed.

I'd suggest giving tech support a buzz.
