Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Ok so I just got a email from Afrihost saying my line had been upgraded from 4 to 6Mbps. Maybe this is part of the reason for the google slowdown

Shouldn't be, the 4Mbps line speed is more than capable of processing Google services :)
Could you paste a traceroute to Gmail, Google, YouTube or any other website you're seeing slow downs on?
 
It's getting a bit annoying with my business line, youtube buffering really slow, pokerstars timing out, ipad online games losing connection, pages not opening at times or very slow. What is going on again, it's like this for the last week or two on an off, it's irritating. I feel like I have to move to some other provider.

Haha I dunno what it was I just kind of had a feeling :D Your second hop looks quite high which means there's exchange congestion present :/ you'll have to contact afrihost/telkom and report a line fault

and that's not even high today, sometimes this is like 200-300 ms. I will report a line fault to Telkom. Thanks for your assistance.

Isn't 46.768 lower than 49.774? It seems like the second hop is lower than some of the other readings.

Yea, I was saying that due to the second hop being quite high - it almost certainly points to exchange congestion. Usually, the second hope is around 9ms; with 49 being waay to high.
