Sorry about that. If I haven't already replied, I will do so ASAP :(

Please do, sent you another pm. Seems you are the only person interested to help. The support still have not responded. The account performed well over the weekend. Today its back to even worse performance. 1m to 2m speed on 4m account during the day.

I'm having major connectivity issues tonight. Can access MyBB and some other local sites, but international sites are inaccessible. If I reboot the internet works for half a minute. Extremely annoying...

Edit: Same issue with my Afrihost 1GB free capped account.

Very weird, cos there were no general issues reported on the network.

What DNS are you using generally?

Considering that I have local internet access, the problem must be with Afrihost. And the timing is consistent across the problem days. Ffs.

Not necessarily. If there was no international access across the network, then we'd definitely know about it. It could be that high latency is less noticeable on local but severe on international. If you think about it, you're looking at 10-14ms versus 140-160ms. And that's if latency is good. If it's horrible, I think it will be very severe on international.

Hi Afriman

Currently have 10mb business uncapped, happy with it for the last 3 months.
However recently found out my exchange supports 40mb.
Thinking about getting 20 mb normal uncapped account.
How does the 20mb uncapped compare to 10mb business uncapped ?
Would the better option just be to stay on 10mb business uncapped ?

Sucks, am looking to move to Ah BU but I stream Twitch most nights till past 23h00... Has there been any official response?

We've run several tests on our side on Twitch and we can't see any issues. We've also logged tickets with MTN and twitch's network provider but we haven't been able to recreate these issues so far.

We ran two streams from our LAN gaming even this weekend and all seemed to work really well :(

20mbps Uncapped is still semi-shaped while business is obviously not. I think it's difficult to say what works best for your particular situation.

These spikes in latency are very concerning. From the previous results you sent me, I also saw frequent timeouts. Looks to me like there is some intermittent latency on the line or possibly from the exchange.

Cool. Have tried the free 1GB and it's great. And only heard good things about BU. Looking forward to signing up next month.

Also see lots of Cape Town subscribers in this thread which makes me hopeful.

We generally see pretty awesome speeds in the Cape. The great thing is that all overseas is routed over WACS from the South, your international latency literally could not be better :)

Well, I'm very happy with AH Bus uncapped. Had a few issues here and there, but it's by far better than what i had when I was at MWEB.

Really feeling that they always try to give the best speed for this type of account.

It's now time for then to make the 20 Mbps Bus Uncapped account cheaper,, Hint Hint

Great to hear that you're having an awesome experience :)

Thanks for the reply. No worries, am joining you next month and I cannot wait. :)

Very weird, cos there were no general issues reported on the network.

What DNS are you using generally?

I use Google's DNS. I tried switching to the Afrihost settings but nothing improved. What started out as a slow down at 11pm turned into a total loss of connectivity by midnight and continued to around lunch time the following day. Rebooting routers and checking connections did nothing.

Everything seems ok now though.

It looks like my connection is screwing up yet again. Cutting in and out, slower speeds and a likelihood of losing all connectivity in half an hour or so. Right on schedule - it always starts around 11.

Been having some issues all day today. Seems mostly with browsing. Websites struggle to load even when refreshing or clicking link in website.

Not sure if it's computer or if there's internet issue because when I do speed test it seems fine.

We definitely not seeing a general breakdown of connectivity around that time though, it would be a widespread issue if the network was basically shutting down at 11pm. If it's not a DNS issue, then it might be a line or area problem :(

That sounds more likely to be line or area specific. Usage on the network could never really be that consistent, it would fluctuate all the time.

What do traceroutes show at that time?

Pretty odd. That kind of stuff I think could be linked to DNS issues. But we'd need to test further to confirm :(
