VisualRoute trace to www.vsl.co.at
==========================================================================

This trace was started on Mar 11, 2014 7:39:02 PM.
The host 'www.vsl.co.at' (known as ip-212-24-125-70.cyberservice.net) has been found, and is reachable in 21 hops. Also, it responded to HTTP requests on port 80 (it is running server Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0, which responded in 434ms). The TTL value of packets received from it is 110.In general this route is reasonably quick, with hops responding on average within 157ms. However, all hops after hop 17 in network 'PSINet, Inc.' respond particularly slowly. This slow speed could perhaps be accounted for by the fact that the remote network is located far away. The DNS lookup was completed almost instantaneously (less than 2ms - this may be the result of caching).

Speeds on AH are really pathetic this evening... somehow, Telkom and MWEB don't seem to be affected at all :(

EDIT: Important to note that the MWEB and Telkom accounts are shaped, unlike the AH.

8Mb/s Business Uncapped. It's just getting worse. This is unacceptable.

Trace complete.

Almost 50% packet loss on 41.181.139.109 ! That's on the MTN network.

Thanks. Please PM me your info so I can have this escalated for you.

I have had open tickets for both my Dad's line and mine for the last 2 weeks. I have supplied tests over and over again, when I originally asked for a physical port change. Once I got it to the point that Afrihost submitted a request to Telkom, all of a sudden, on the same day, BOTH lines started working again. Because of this, when the Telkom technician called me from the exchange to change the port, we thought it best to leave it as is (working, that is). All was fine for a few days, and again this Sunday at 15:00, my line dropped (just like 2 weeks ago when all this started). When it came up again, the line was syncing at a slightly higher speed than it has been since the installation last March (2013). My line since installation was syncing at 10012kbps (down) and 1020 (up)... Now it is syncing at 10230kbps (down) and 1020 (up), and the speeds are all over the place and line is unstable. I have requested that Afrihost re-open the fault with Telkom, and I have re-opened my own fault logged with them, too. The response I have so far, is that Telkom is aware of the problem and is tending to it.... WTF? When? How Long?

So, basically, I am paying for 2 services that are not as advertised... as for my 10MB Uncapped Business account, it was running perfectly since I moved over from MWEB in November/December... so why is it now worse than a 4MB MWEB account????

Today I downgraded my Dad's 10MB Uncapped account to a 4MB Business so that I could salvage the month for him - taking a R100-00 no refund KNOCK in the process - only to find that this new account isn't even 3MB, never mind the 4MB we are paying for.

Now you tell me how I am supposed to react? :(

I know you're upset, and the overall experience that we're seeing you guys report isn't great at all :(
I'll have a chat with our team tomorrow morning to see if we have any further feedback on the improvements.

Been saying it for over a week... there is not enough IPC, and instead of fixing the problem, AH is working on their new website, or releasing new specials, or giving away free bandwidth..... W T F ????

....must be nice to have people paying you, so you can do all these nice upgrades, and NOT have to do anything in return for it..... INNIT?????? :p

Please remember that we have a lot of separate teams working on a lot of things.
I don't think it's fair to assume that we aren't working on improving our network or prioritising the improvements. Please see that we aren't doing this intentionally.

@AfriGuy/Man - is there a problem in the WC today? Things are still really slow.

We aren't seeing any reported issues on our end. Shaping is being implemented heavier than what we usually see but this shouldn't be affecting realtime services.

If using Afrihost then compj-cpt-1.mtnns.net (196.44.18.2) is the bottleneck in our part of the woods. 33.33% packet loss
