Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

yup.

Shame *****, different day... I'm sick and tired of this nonsense. Ironically, since I've given notice on my account, my connection is dropped *every single night* just after midnight... Like clockwork.

And then to top it off, an email from Gian... Expecting an apology for the IPC issues, and touch wood, perhaps word on refunds, but nooo - he goes on about the PILES of red tape those poor support staff needs to jump though?

I've promptly responded.
And whilst you where playing games having your staff write essays and jumping through hoops, your customers suffered! And frankly, CONTINUES to suffer...

I'm sick and tired of your excuses, pathetic service levels, and SHOCKINGLY bad service given the CONTINUING issues with your IPC capacity in Cape Town. Given you see your customers as a two way relationship, I can't see this relationship continue given that you do absolutely NOTHING to meet your customer half way, whilst you KNOWINGLY provide a sub standard, no wait, PATHETIC service. At the very least I would have expected Afrihost to be forth coming with refunds after the problems with your IPC has been alleviated, but it seems it was premature to expect Afrihost to do ANYTHING to meet a customer half way... But g*d help us if we're a day late with our payments, of course!

I am EXTREMELY GLAD to be in a position to inform you that as from Saturday, I will no longer be a customer of Afrihost.

Thanks for nothing,

I'm done with Afrihost.... You have literally, become a joke!

Evening has come, and speeds are in the crapper AGAIN.
Only 3.5MB speed on 10MB line.... and unstable at that.
What is going on???? Is this now the norm for my premium Business Uncapped????
AH accounts are the only ones that suffer like this every evening.... all other ISP accounts are flying.

I sent a pm late last night to ALL 3 AH reps, and have not had one response :wtf:

Yep, same story as last night. Capped account is screwed.

Same here. 4Mbps line.
This morning it was fine.:D

Net keeps dropping, but otherwise seems fine. Anyone having a similar issue? Just goes keeps going offline periodically for a few seconds.

Yep, same story as last night. Capped account is screwed.

ALL my AH accounts are screwed :(
Hey AH.... are you still gonna try tell us that all the free giveaways did NOT impact the performance on your network????
When there was a shortage prior to your "self-claimed partial IPC" upgrade, my Business Uncapped performed better than it does now - I say self-claimed coz the truth is that you got ALL your ordered IPC from Telkom... unfortunately, you over-sold your network and taxed it with free giveaways to NEW clients, at the expense of your current clients.

I am still waiting for a personal apology and some form of compensation for the countless hours of crappy service, shoddy line stability, and time away from my business and family doing BS tests and traces.....

YOU NEED TO FIX THIS! Or at least indicate to me and everyone else that we matter enough for you to take the time to address our concerns and deliver on all your past promises. We have ALL been more than patient, we have waited long enough (3 months and counting).... Time to pay the piper :p

Maybe it's only affecting faster line speeds.
I also have it on good authority that Telkom is busy upgrading the backhaul in our area, and making use of the fibre in the ground, to link the majority of the SDC/MSAN boxes directly into the exchanges (thus cutting down the distance). This project is a bit behind (obviously), but "should" be complete by the end of June. Apparently, once complete, the entire Blouberg/Milnerton area will be 20MB/40MB capable. Telkom might be using this area/region as a starting point for their FTTH offering at the end of the year - REALLY HOPE SO :D

....maybe it's all BS... maybe it's just wishful thinking.... but I have seen them working at certain junctions and pavements - who knows???

Nope... now it's our turn in Milnerton, Table View, Blouberg, etc.... before, the guys in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town were having a horrid time for weeks on end ;)

Oh crumbs ... then whoever is to experience what we just have... you have my sympathies! Stock up on tranquilizers now! It was months before it was sorted.

@Afriman

I've been getting worse and worse latency results lately.
Just now I noticed speeds are much slower than normal on a youtube video and decided to to do a test.

I've never seen the second hop have such a high latency before :(
Isn't that exchange congestion? :(
The fact that you see way more stories about congestion than stories about it being fixed, do these kind of things actually get fixed or is should a person just make peace Telkom's excuses and accept that another guest just boarded the sinking ship?

In one test it went to 600ms+
:wtf:

yawn...

Every day, just after midnight... Why oh why, does Afrihost feel the need to disconnect my session every night, simply because I opted to cancel? Are you THAT retarted that you now punish your customers for wanting to leave you?

Oh well - at least I won't have to deal with this nonsense for much longer.

I'm already on 40Mbit though and my other ISP accounts are fine, so I doubt that's the issue.
Maybe not... but it might affect the routing in our area to MTN IPC.... as all our tests confirm, it's definitely an AH/MTN issue - there are just too many users, and not enough bandwidth. Even when this mythical extra capacity arrives, I don't think it will make any difference. By the time it arrives, they would have over-sold that too, just like the last upgrade.
Empty promises, once again :(

It's all the okes finishing their FREE caps they are receiving. I predict things should be better on Sunday.
