Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Tried to watch the last 15 minutes of rugby on SS.
What a horrible experience.

Buffering galore and when it did not buffer every few seconds there would be an automatic replay of scenes, which resulted that a move or commentary would be repeated at least once and then move on to the next scene only to be repeated again and then suddenly it would skip forward by a few seconds and you would miss what happened in the game.

Tried to watch with my 2Mbps business and with my 4 Mbps account.

Edit:
If I pause "Pause" my uncapped account today, will the account still be active till the end of the month?
Will my capped, Hosting and mobile accounts still be active or do they also go in "Pause" mode?

I'm sorry you're having this terrible experience :(

If you pause now, your accounts will be inactive for the period you select, effective from 1st of July if you set the date there. Only the paused product will be affected.

How does pausing a bundled thingy work?

Is it possible to pause the 4Mbs business account until the IPC upgrade has come through, but keep the bundled line unpaused?

Yes, you can pause the data, and you'll only pay for the line rental for the months that you paused for. I'm not sure if discounts will still apply, as the system has been revised recently.

Trying to watch a YouTube video quickly and nothing is quick!
I watch 10 seconds and it buffers for about 25 seconds.
It is via my PS3 on 2Mbps line.
Any known issues Afriman?

Demand seems to have spiked in the last 15-20mins. We're busy shaping on normal Home Uncapped accounts to bring the network to normal. Can you post your Network Test App output?

It might be the better account, but us Business users still do not have the ideal system, and speeds are far too erratic lately. We seem to be forever waiting for extra capacity or something. These excuses are getting irritating. I wonder what would happen if my payments were this erratic?

Tell me about it ... AH technical having been trying to assist for a week now (thanks AH), but I suspect capacity is the issue.

Supersport streaming has never worked properly on Afrihost, nore has DSTV on demand, and TwitchTV cant even load the page. Switch to any other ISP and all these sites work 100%. Reported this so many times, and it never gets addressed. All I get told is everything is right on Afrihost's side, which cannot be the case if ohter ISP's have no issue.

Getting packet loss again tonight. Makes gaming nearly impossible. IS account works fine so not exchange related. Really sad when it happens over weekends as this is the only time I get to enjoy some off time.

Does the stabilise your line tool ever work for anyone here? Not having much luck with it

Hope this is not premature but the packet loss that I have had for the last couple of weeks suddenly went away mid afternoon today. Could this be the much anticipated IPC upgrade?

Sinscerely hope so.

:D :D

Getting massive latency spikes right now on my 4m account. My WA account seems perfectly fine...what is going on?

AfriMan / Girl / Guy

Do not touch a thing.

Step away from the IPC throttles.

This is... bliss.

Just leave it be OK!

Could you fire up a Twitch stream on "High" and see if it streams smoothly?

Would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Hey

Yup... no problems on high and even on source :wtf:... world 1st for this AH account of mine methinks.

Here... a quick vid-screencap of the Twitch test tonight... no sound to save size and sorry about the channel choice... I just clicked on that what was there...

Tonight this AH account is just blazing!!

So, 5 - 20kB/s on a well-seeded torrent (last night's f1 GP quali) on a 4mb business account, at 11am on a Sunday... That's acceptable, right?

Nothing else running on the network, protocol prioritisation switched off in ClientZone, local QOS disabled, getting 250kB/s or so on single-thread speed tests, and 400+ on multi-thread. Ping to 2nd hop is <10ms. So...

P2P been killed on business too now, I assume... Oh, how you've fallen Afrihost. :(
