I find my 10Mb business uncapped account running at 600-800kb/s at night, and then around 11pm it shoots back to 1.1Mb/s.
Streaming HD on my Apple TV is almost impossible, trailers used to take 2 seconds before they played without buffering and now I have to wait for the whole thing to buffer first. Changing it to SD quality has the same affect.
Definitely something not right with the network, hoping it gets fixed soon. That said, it's probably going to get worse after the line speed upgrades.

We recommend the Billion BiPAC 7402GX, but any other router capable of L2TP should work

Yeah it had no issues. When I got my 10Mb line I was happy that HD streaming was near instant. Tried to watch the iTunes festival concert last night (The Pixies) and it was stuttering until it looked like I was watching a screensaver of tetris blocks.
Will see what happens over the next few days and let you know if it persists. It's not completely annoying yet.
On a 4Mbps line:Hey, do a speettest.net and a testmy.net and post the results. Perhaps there is something one can help you with

I can live with these, although international is a bit slow. Yesterday local was at half these levels and international at a third with Youtube buffering all the time on low quality. My line and sync rates haven't changed in the past months and the traceroutes seems acceptable.
Another thing that I've noticed is that Afrihost has slowly slipped down the MyBroadband 4Mbps Speedtest leaderboard and is now number 10: http://speedtest.mybroadband.co.za/stats/connection/adsl4m
It's possible, but we're not seeing any specific patterns on usage at the moment - except that it's more than what we've seen in the past. Torrents are still eating a big chunk of available bandwidth
Yeah, that ranking ain't too great. Let's hope we can improve on that soon

When I went to bed last night my torrents had an eta of 2 -3 hours but when looked at my computer 10 hours later they were nearly stalled and far from finished. ETA now is 1+ day. Paused them for now to make real-time internet use even possible at all. WTF?Torrents are still eating a big chunk of available bandwidth
PS: yeah, Breaking Bad hopefully won't break bad the Suff Effrican interwebz. And, whoohoo, I guess it's soon time for Linux Mint 16 ... and I expect nothing less than flawless download speeds for that distro. It's mucho importante since I won't be bothered to ever go back to Windoof.
EDIT: sowwy, didn't notice this was the business thread and I'm just a poor little mom 'n' dad user.

Horrible on Business Uncapped - international traffic is a joke and has been for the last 10 days. AH maintains it is a congestion issue on the exchange (same line and same exchange with MWeb in August had zero issues). Still open ticket: LPG-306-41392

Just to clarify, you're on Uncapped (not Business) which is why torrents may be shaped.

I moved to the Business unshaped recently from another normal user ADSL account on another ISP. Download speeds and all other activities function at 100%, but the streaming is very unstable, unlike I had before on a heavily throttled account.
Is there any solution for this?

Have they said what evidence points to congestion on the exchange? Was it from a traceroute?
There's no guarantee that an exchange that was not congested last month won't be now. If more people are upped to 10Mbps in preparation for November's upgrades and product changes, there'a always a possibility of congestion.
yeah that's my problem too. Everything works fine, streaming is broken.
