Can't! Spoke to them and because Afrihost has a fault open on my line they can't open another.
That shouldn't be the case, you can have a fault logged for the voice portion of the line. We don't manage this, so we can't have the fault logged

Just got this sms:
"MTN is upgrading the network in your area to improve your broadband experience"
Is this the ADSL network or their mobile network?
Sounds like this is Mobile, not something that we've sent out.

Nope... any fault with Telkom is logged on their system under the phone number... it does not matter whether it's for ADSL, or phone line, you cannot log more than one call/ticket on their system at a time. Freakboy's info is accurate, Telkom will not log another call for him until the AH call has been resolved. AH needs to escalate THEIR open ticket/call with Telkom to get a speedier resolution![]()
That's not the process from our end. While we can log/ escalate faults for the DSL line - Telkom simply close/ ignore faults for a voice line.
Ok but this still doesn't help to solve my problem. Phoned again and told them that the fault was logged by Afrihost for DSL but there is no dial tone now. Answer I got was sorry but they can't assist or log a new fault until the current one is resolved.
So now I'm screwed because my line is with Afrihost and sitting without internet because I can't log a fault!

Also it may be a good idea to move your line back to telkom...
Agreed. I have my line with AH, but never log line faults with them. I contact Telkom directly - too many hoops to jump through and delays with AH. Always best to go straight to the source![]()
I have an email from Critical Care that directly contradicts what Afriguy is stating here.
I have been told to keep it in email and not share via the forums.
What should I do?.
